Although the fishing didn’t reach last weeks crazy 8 fish per rod, Elinor still had a good week averaging 4.6 despite the stormy conditions.
The day after storm Doris on Friday the water had a minor amount of colour from the turbulence so the fishing was harder. However the lake is now very clear again and is ready to fish superbly when we get some decent fishing conditions.
Boat and bank equally good although bank fishing slightly better on windy days.
Both lures and nymphs are working with most fish being taken 3-5 foot down.
On milder days buzzers are certainly worth using. On Sunday, Alan Rennocks, took a boat to the shelter of the West arm and caught 26 fish using a floating line and two size 12 skinny buzzer imitations.
