Another unsettled week with less anglers than usual fishing. Buzzer fishing continued to be excellent until Sunday when the rise in water level coloured some areas of the lake. The coarse bank is clearer and still fished well to nymphs but in other areas a black or black/green lure fished slow on an intermediate worked better.
The sediment should clear by the day so we can get back to normal. As well as buzzers there are good hatches of pond olives and plenty of hawthorn on warmer days.

The success of the competition in March had encouraged Iain Barr to hold an extra heat of the Airflo World Bank Masters at Elinor. As well as prizes anglers have the chance of winning a place in the televised grand final held at Elinor on May 20th with a first prize of £2000.

Sunday May 6th is the date of the Tommy Wood memorial trophy. 9am – 4pm
This friendly roving bank match is free entry to everyone. As usual in memory of Tommy competitors may only use buzzers and a floating line. Its a fun day with all proceeds from the raffle going to Sue Ryder, Peterborough.
