TF_One fishI am no footy expert but, I have not seen so many back passes to the goalkeeper. No urgency in attack, walk the ball forward with no running at defenders.Basically look scared to attack or am I wrong?

i’ve watched loads of matches and our team [well half] can’t even sing the national anthem
the other point we don’t seam to have many English players playing in europe yet most of the premiership has european players from every country ~naughty ~naughty so they know how we are going to play -

TF_SwimfeederYou can put England’s poor performance down to gross bad man-management, Cappello has not got the “balance” right, yes discipline is vitally important, but so too is allowing the players to shoulder some responsibilty for the team.
I want to see my England side declare to the World the starting line-up days in advance if possible.
I want to see my England team go out and grab the game by the throat, forget about trying to look good defending, England simply cannot do it properly and never have! but what England can, and should do, is attack with power and pace, just like in the premiership, if the opposition score one ,England should score two, England should play with freedom and express themselves……no fear football! with 3 at the back and attacking the opposition from every angle, this is easily within them, they need to feel like Lion’s not lamb’s, forget all the claptrap clever foreign stuff and play the beautiful game, England can go out of the World cup with a whimper or thrill the World with power play.
When this World cup is over, regardless of results, we should employ an English manager and never again expect a foreign coach to understand the English game, it is unique, the Germans,French, Italian’s and Argentinians do not entertain foreign coaches…..why the hell are England? the FA are a discrace for even contemplating the concept.

TF_wightanglerhave to agree with you Bob,
but it seems that the over paid premiership players lack passion or hunger for the pride of representing the country.
Sadly, modern premiership football as a franchise and marketing platform and vehicle for the international super-rich that de-regularization of the city in 1987 allowed to develop -at the expense of the national club game and roots. Surely, if teams outside the recources of the big 4 have to go into debt and receivership for a realistic chance at any titles or positions and also -that also gain access to the larger sponsor and tv funds and spoils.
That other world cup teams with players simuarly divorced from their countries are also underperforming is also indicative.
Surely, expenses alone are the only costs that should be claimed -not wages -when the pride of representing the country should be concerned.
I feel sorry for those die-hard english fans who have saved for this and gone there to support the national team.More reason to support the english senior FIPS team this week- and well done to Geeps for his link up with Matchangler.com on rports of the event in Spain beginning this week.

TF_MarkTA couple of bad games and it means that they’ve got no passion, no pride and don’t want to represent there country! What a load of rubbish.
Next you’ll be telling me anyone that doesn’t sing the national anthem doesn’t have the right to play for England no passion etc blah blah blah. You weren’t saying all this when they qualified.
If they’d won like they did in qualifing you’d all be saying there the most passionate and gifted players in the world. How about getting behind your team and stop reading the rubbish thats printed in the mornings.

TF_Man of KentThe problem is the we are playing a highly predictable formation which leaves no room for movement in front of the ball. On top of this, we are playing people in positions they are not used to. Why put Gerrard on the left? Why play Gerrard and Lampard in midfield when they’ve never gelled?
Capello needs to change things around and move to either 4-3-3, 4-3-1-2 or the Cristmas tree and when things/players need to be changed, be bold. Replacing Lennon with Wright-Phillips was pointless as it changed nothing. Heskey should have been replaced much earlier in the last game and donkey-boy Crouch should have played as a proper centre forward and knock the balls back for Rooney, Gerrard or Lampard to have a crack.
Personally, I think the way forward is with Crouch and Defoe up front with Rooney in behind with a midfield of Gerrard in the centre, Barry (left) and either Lennon or Wright-Phillips.
The back four is more of an issue with no Ferdinand, King or Carragher to choose from and it may be that Lampard in the old sweeper position might have to be considered. However I acknowledge this does mean playing some out of position when I’ve just complained about exactly that, but with the losses at the back, a solution of some sort needs to be found.
