TF_mike pattinsonLooking for an extension for a pro. I seem to remember that guys on here identified a section from another make that fit.
Don’t really want the expence of purpose made as may only be used once per year.

TF_GillboThere are the Daiwa TPX and SGPX sections but they are expensive. The 14.5m MAP Lumphammer section is the correct size but hard to get hold of. I have been told the Garbolino Executioner 14.5m section will also fit. The Middy Feature Reacher universal extension can be cut down to fit and only costs £40.

TF_mike pattinsonRive is great pat, found the wheels kit to wide for some venues I fish, so put bags on old trolly and carry box.
Converted the long feeder rest into a top kit roost.
Just bought 6 lengths of alloy tube and made 700mm adjustable legs, (back problems struggling to reach trays!)
Sent a mate the picture of the other you had for sale but not herd from him.
Thanks for the info on the extention, I have the t.pro which only gets used about ten times a year as I use a Spectron for most of my fishing. One venue has weedbeds which can produce 50lb+ of skimmers if you can reach (19m)with carp averaging 16lb.just a bit much for the speccy.

Iknow you probably wont use a section that takes your pole beyond 16 m very often but think about this, the TPX section costs about £300 the daiwa 16m sections are parralel so you could use in theory as many as you like.
The pukka 16m sections for a tourney pro retail at close to £440 pounds.
So sticking a £60 butt section up the back of your tourney pro that was designed to be used as the 14m section on a much inferior pole doesnt seem like a good idea.
question is do these butt sections bend when used at extreme lengths? if not then quiet rightly why pay a fortune for a pukkA extension.
Any one out there able to shed any light on the subject. -

TF_GillboI dont make a habbit of fishing 17.5 or 19m often and would never fish at 21m again. I run Daiwa G8s and to be honest they do droop quite a lot and feel pretty unresponive at 17.5m+. From a personal point of view I think you would struggle to tell the differance when using these extensions. If anything the cheaper ones are slightly thicker walled and possibly a bit stronger so you are less likely to damge them on the strike. If you want a better answer Nathan Watson or Pete Bailey will be able to tell you. I think they will say it does not really matter much though.
