This forum used to be THE place to enter into a proper debate, contributors like Keith and Robbo are sadly missed and many others too, as a consequence and knock on effect, the subjects covered in recent times are shallow, small minded squabbles or mundane tackle/equipment threads…..yawn.

I miss the epic debates we used to have on here, I miss the humour and I miss the cut and thrust of passionate knowledgeable anglers trying to put their point over.

It used to be, a person could put up a thread and it would trigger a massive response………sadly, not now though, there is so much to chew the cud over in angling, but alas, not on here.

I have said it before and i will say it again….This site is going through one of its boring periods,where the topics are bland and mundane.The site does miss some of its great posters.This causes a knock on effect,as other members dont post but just read as a guest and move on.
But the site will kick into turbo again when a topic hits the headlines and the lads come back out of the woodwork to have their say.I remember so well this time last year(was it last year?) when the Fisho had finished and the keys on the lap-tops were hot with the rantings and ravings of the many members.A certain “bacesey”(David Bacon)opened a thread on the Fisho controversey(Nathen W.)and all hell let loose.To this day this thread remains the record(i believe)with over 14,000 views.Perhaps the time has come for another sensational period of posting hitting our screens….BRING IT ON.~shh ~shh ~shh ~shh ~shh

A little known fact is that I actually went to primary school with Aberdeen Angus.
Sadly we have lost touch now and I suspect he’s given up fishing….
I recall at the first Glebe Festival on Lake One he was blanking, and I was going nowhere, so I set him up with a floating crust set-up (floating baits were allowed back then, remember?) and bingo he caught one. I think it was his first (and possibly last) ever match… he was chuffed to bits….

Mick the bookie was right i did post on here last year about the fisho pegging,i would like to think the debate on here may have helped them change it and in my opinion what a fantastic job they have done to make a fairer and more enjoyable match.Credit where credits due.

I remember it well, I also remember he was scared of snakes, the first thing Mike P, Mike S, Mick R and I seen on arriving at Lake 1 was a great big grass snake sitting on the peg – don’t think Aberdeen Angus was too chuffed. Happy days.

I’m still about but not fishing much since having a car accident and truly knackering a shoulder that was already injured three years ago.

I have been on the bank a few times this season so you never know, I might be back properly and posting on here again (no point in commenting if I haven’t got a fresh viewpoint you see!).

That said, I have got some plans to run some big money matches in the very near future…. Watch this space!!
