Anglers fishing Lake 5 at Dynamite Baits Makins Wednesday KOBRA Open had to break the ice after a heavy overnight frost, and although sport was slow everyone had bites.
Coventry angler Eddie Keene (peg 11) continued his good winter form to land a bream, a tench and some ‘bits’ on dead red maggot and worm cocktail presented at 14m, to put 6 lb 14 oz on the scales for another win.
Runner up Andy Findlay (Korum / Preston Innovations) sat it out on corn at 14.5m on peg 14 to land a bream and a ‘skimmer’ for second place with 3 lb 12 oz, edging Best Baits Packington backed Danny Lewis (peg 10) with 3 lb of bits into third place.
The Kobra Wednesday Open on 10 February will also be on Lake 5.

The Dynamite Baits Makins Thursday KOBRA Open was fished on Lagoon on Phase 2, and although the winner was the only angler to catch carp, all competitors enjoyed a superb match where everyone was able to get bites throughout the day.
Top weight fell to Andy FINDLAY for the second Thursday running. This time the Korum/Preston backed ace fished long pole to the island on peg 4 and baited with maggots to catch several carp and a barbel for 39 lb 4 oz.
Runner up Gaz Wood (Browning Central) 0on open water peg 17, fished caster on the pole for a superb bag of quality roach plus a perch of 1 ½ lb for 13 lb 6 oz.
Next weeks Thursday Kobra Open (11 February) will be on Lizard
