Fishing flat floats

Looking for some tips/info on fishing flat floats. Going to give it a try. Never tried before. Need some info from setup, plumbing up and actual fishing? Please help.

I use them here in nz,especially in winter as the rivers get a fair bit of flow . I use a small •7 or 1 gram with a feeder (small)to get the feed just where I want it and 6 to 12 inch hook length. Weight to set float pole tip water level ,even touches can be seen. This is not the traditional way but one of the ways of flat float fishing. Minimum drag from water and sensitive for bites.
