i fished corfu last yr which should be simalir to rhodes with it being 1 of the greeks ilses.at 1st i started fishing with small balls of bread on abt a size 18-20 hook.was catching loads of mullet,sea bass and sea bream on it.after a while i decieded to try for something else after watching some of the locals.i caught a cpl of mullet and cut them in half and chucked it out for the laugh any way after abt 10 mins i want laughing i struck into something that looked like a massive cod weighing abt 13lbs+.after that,thats all i did and was never let down and made some greeks very happy.so that might help u owt a bit m8.tight lines and hope you do well out there
