          I bought i brolly 3 years ago……….never used it.

My side tray has a bowl that slides under it so i put my bait in that. Its just to much hassle with a brolly especially when fishing the feeder or wag.

IMO if you let the rain bother you, you’ll always be one step behind those that dont! It might just be me being over competitive, but Ive seen people get very lazy when the rain starts pouring down, not feeding, not changing rigs, some just sitting there until it stops.

As for bait, I use a small bait umbrella, does the trick nicly.

I dissagree there manolli – in some situations a brolly can be a real pain espec when casting but in others such as pole fishing you can get it set up so that it doesn’t interfere with your fishing at all. There’s nobody more competitive than me and I feel more comfortable with a brolly up despite having descent winter/wet weather gear.

For me, I would be more likely to get dispondent the wetter my stuff got and feel I fish better with a degree of comfort.

Was it raining at the start of the match when they were seeting up? Maybe they just didnt want to waste time if during the match with 25k at stake.

Craigo, like I say, it might just be me, I would never let rain interfere with my fishing, thats why you’ll never see me with a brolly up… each to its own, if you feel comfy with it, then keep using one… all I can vouch for is my self and my own opinions… When im fishing, Its like a trance or somthing, nothing stops my concentration, my mates hate it when they try to call me while im fishing and I never answer! lol

Must be a sad life you have Gary, sat there watching a motionless float, all the time being P****d on from above, and completely ignoring your mates…….

Have you considered being a copper ?………..

                          :0)

                            LMAO at CD

Other thing for me is that all my kit has to go back indoors when I get home (some thieving scum has burgled my garage before) and her indoors goes mad when my stuff is wet through and stinks – at least the brolly keeps it a bit dryer

All my gear is indoors,to prevent what happened to Craigo, and with everything I take,it fills the kitchen and dinette when I get it all out to dry……..

I used to be quite content to be sat in the rain, but have since come to my senses, and got a brolly……..

I don’t need the greif from the missus anymore after a good soaking…..especially in winter…

lol, i never fish with a brolley, as its gurenteed you will hook a monster with light elastic, (i dont use pull bungs before the pull bungers shout out) so a brolley is just more hastle, i personally dont mind the weather as long as im dry inside and my preston drifish suit was worth every penny! (waitong for my goretex clothing now from bag up angling…)

manoli you have grown up leaps and bounds…still fancy that fish off?

Pete, I was a right cocky little sh1t back then, and I like to think that Ive grown up like you say, I would get mouthy to you saying I could beat you, I remember it all VERY clearly! And as immature as I was, i’ll stay true to my word, and still fish against you if you want. How does the GUC at Milton keynes take your fancy? :0)

It depends on the wind direction as to if i put my brolly up. It jus depends on if i can get it secure and in the right place so that it keeps me dry and does not interfear with my fishing. If its in the way and i am having to grab it to keep it in the right place. Then the brolly goes down and i will sit it out in the rain.

I seldom use a brolly at Cudmore, if it rains I just go down the cabin for pie and chips and wait for it to stop. 🙂 Seriously there are times when a brolly can help make you more comfortable but lots more when they are just a pain in the bum.
