Just spent a few days on the Island and just wondered where the coarse fishing is.

They like to keep it a secret so the Pikeys don’t find out. LOL.

          Where were you staying?

We stayed at Bembridge but Mrs Pikey’s Aunt lives in Freshwater.

No doubt the IOW boys will know a lot more than me but you weren’t a million miles from Rookley Park or Merstone or the Garlic Farm just to name a few!

Doubt if there’s much around Freshwater as I believe they still fish with spears over that way! Even the locals are wary of Freshwater Bay – something to with webbed-feet apparently ????

Tubs, ive fished Merstone a few times, lots of carp in there but probably better off fishing for the silvers this time of year (roach and skimmers), mind you, you might not like it, there aint no onsite cafe.
