MongloidI didnt get any at all this year…….., but that is probably because even though I have “Supported” this event many times since it started, this year I didnt apply. Purely on the grounds that joining an organisation should be a matter of “Choice” not “Compliance”.

TF_BacseyParticipantI must confess that i may not have joined if it was not for fisho, sorry but im just being honest and i know im not the only one,i think its called blackmail?

tournament_proditto – they can shove it up right up their a*se
Its blatant exploitation as they knew people would still want the lure of fish-o £25K and hence pay ~£20
If the AT is falling down due to lack of members maybe they should have done a better job of promoting and selling it to anglers in the first place

TF_mjk380ive bought two angling trust memberships in less than a year. one for national and one for fisho. yet havent had an email for fisho. i may ask for a refund on membership !~think ~think

adam1Participantyour AT membership lasts a full year, you didnt need to re join for fisho if you d already joined within the last year!
-
11/02/2010 at 5:35 pm #93888
TF_mjk380i know it lasts a full year but when applying for fisho tickets it said enter username or email (which i didnt have) so i just paid for another one purely for fishomania.

But if your AT membership runs out before you fish your qualifier/s you have to renew it.

You will not get a refund!
Thats the beauty of it……. Some people will have joined the AT soley to apply for FISHO tickets & if they get NONE they dont get a refund = Money Lost

TF_baitchefParticipantYou cant call yourself an angler unless you join the trust.
-
11/02/2010 at 5:55 pm #93897
TF_MarkTIf you fish more than 50 qualifiers you become a vet? which means that your guaranteed 6 tickets?
Is that right? because what will happen is in a few years there be that many vets in it it will get harder for new angler to get tickets.

I am not saying that the AT is not worth joining or that it is rubbish or anything like that.
But No-one had to Pay anything in order to apply for tickets when they supported this competition in previous years

TF_stavif you bothered to ask a solicitor he would have told you it’s actually illegal to force somebody to join just to get tickets that they might not get anyway. i did and didn’t

gonkParticipantto right smed ive been fishing since i was knee high im now 39 i might not be a brilliant angler but im still an angler and not a member of the AT and proud of it i would rather give the £20 to my local tackle shop and keep the first port of call for many new ANGLERS in a job ~clap

TF_Gary KCan’t agree more, I’ve applied for a at least 2 venues for the last 5-6 years but I am not paying £23 to give me the chance to enter for a ticket that I may well not get. If they had allowed to enter the draw and then join the trust if you were allocated a ticket, I could have lived with that, but with the current system in place, I agree its attemped blackmail.

Hope you make good use of my tickets, reading between the lines, people seem to have got more tickets than usual and thats because less people have applied. Despite it still being sold out. Herbie no pressure but don’t fcuk it up.

TF_daverobertsThe great thing about it is you can vote with your feet and judging by the fact that I didn’t get anywhere near the amount of tickets I wanted it seems the majority walked with me.

People haven’t got more tickets this year because less have applied, theres still the same amount of tickets as last year, it’s just the luck of the draw.

TF_Empty PegI cannot understand why people pay £20 on the chance they will get a ticket it would really P*ss me off to see that some get 8/10 if i had none. Why does it have to be a lottery why not all get a ticket and if there are to many entrants then that then becomes the lottery if you dont get 1 at least everyone else will only have 1
-
12/02/2010 at 9:13 am #94053
lewisI only applied for two, and needless to say I didn’t get either.
Spend my £20 wisely AT. HMMMM should be enough to pay for a jug of orange juice at the next corporate meet.

SploogieSo the Angling Trust has managed to bring in alot of money due to this mandatory joining of there organisation, What I want to know, as I expect alot of others do is
HOW MUCH MONEY HAVE THEY TAKEN IN TOTAL ON MEMBERSHIP FEE’S ?
HOW ARE THEY GOING TO SPEND THIS TO SUPPORT ANGLERS ?come on then AT , I think you need to stand up and comment.
Just for the record I did join and got 3 tickets.

Mongloidmosellajase1, lewis, and anyone else that didnt get any tickets…. Were you already members of the AT or did you join in order to apply for Fisho tickets.
If you joined just for the tickets, how do you feel now ?
-
12/02/2010 at 4:18 pm #94118
lewisI actually feel a bit of a knobber now, as I just read my emails and I am in at Barford lol. I never have been patient.
I only joined to apply for Fisho. I still think it’s wrong that we’re forced to join to enter certain matches. Would much rather the license fee went up, at least then I’d feel that the AT would have enough money to have a chance of being a powerful body. Even with 25,000 members that’s only 500k of revenue. There’s plenty of individuals (not me I hasten to add) that earn that themselves in a year…
-
12/02/2010 at 4:51 pm #94122
TF_MarkTAccording to the angling times there was 3000 people apply for tickets to fisho so they didn’t gain that many members, don’t forget aswell some of them might have already been members so in the end it can’t have been that many.
