07/02/2014 at 8:24 pm #170759
AnonymousThat is the trouble you can apply and never get any and some anglers apply for say six or seven tickets every year and may get five or six.
-
07/02/2014 at 9:39 pm #170760
TF_Paul EdwardsLists are now on-line, got one from three.

TF_Daz NewellFishomania entry STINKS.

TF_TIDALWAVE1I have never entered any fishomania matches.but i read in the angling times i believe, that more tickets were going to be available this year.
but as a neutral poster, i would also ask those who never recieved tickets a valid question.
if more tickets were made available, how many more pegs that may not be suitable would bee squeezed in,or with no chance of competing from would be thrown into the mix on some fisheries, and would you accept this as part and parcel of entering.? -
08/02/2014 at 12:55 pm #170767
TF_Daz NewellYeah would,at least you get the chance in the draw bag…..its a great leveller is that draw bag.
It is wrong and anno am going on again but it has really peed me right off firstly to not get an entry but even more to find that some guys have 6 or more accepted….total BO@@OX
-
08/02/2014 at 3:01 pm #170772
TF_badgerParticipantIt seems strange to me that demand out strips supply yet on some of the qualifiers there are loads of no shows. Is there no consequences for failing to turn up if not imo, there should be.

08/02/2014 at 9:37 pm #170776
TF_hydrotoneim convinced now this random draw is a fix same old names every year did make 17th on the reserve after 3 yeas of trying

TF_Daz Newellal second that hydrotone
-
09/02/2014 at 10:34 am #170781
TF_TIDALWAVE1The draw is not fixed.
if that was the case, why do some anglers not choose to apply for every match,or not even enter at all every year.yet others apply every year for every match, but still only get a few tickets.
there are too many entries for a practical/suitable number of pegs on each fishery, thats all it is.
ask yourself why the match this competition did not sell out last year on every venue.there were plenty of spaces available.? -
09/02/2014 at 8:34 pm #170785
TF_Daz NewellTIDALWAVE how does that doesnt explain why some get 7 entries and some NONE….the entry system is still a load of BO@@OX
-
09/02/2014 at 8:51 pm #170786
TF_bagging machineParticipantHow do some people get 6 numbers on the lottery and some get none? Its luck of the draw, this year i applied for 5 and got none, dissapointed Yes but i don’t think its a fix. In previous years i would say you average between a third and a half of what you apply for, thats my conclusion from the mates that i know that have applied for a similar amount. My only regret is not paying by direct debit because if i had i would have cancelled it this weekend?
-
10/02/2014 at 2:35 pm #170791
TF_arrow otterParticipantApplied and yet again got none so far and certain anglers get half a dozen. I call it a jobs for the boys tournament if you get my drift!!!
-
10/02/2014 at 3:24 pm #170793
TF_Time TravellerApplied for NONE got NONE 10 years on the trot
So far I’m not gutted at all, like to know how the “sponsored” anglers got on though?
And where is the money going ….

TF_paulnewellEntered once only at TBF. A well known angler chuked a maggot feeder in my peg all day . Apparantly does the same thing everywhere he goes !! That said it seems so popular that the fishery owners fill their boots and cram all them pallets in to cash in . End pegs have produced many many qualifiers !! A manufactured result created by greed !!! Notice I called them pallets and not pegs as they describe them . God forbid drawing next to a chain smoker with extreme flatulance !! ๐ก ๐ก ๐ก

10/02/2014 at 8:25 pm #170801
TF_Ripps 31I applied for 3 and got 2… So I’m not complaining.
But I can see the point of some of you who apply do 6-8 and get none.
Well if this process was case for me I would just apply for mmt tickets at
Least once you paid your money you have your ticket!
Prize funds better plus if he sells out every qualifier it trebles the prize
Money for the eventual winner of that of fisho?
Mmt only for me next year and a few riverfests. ๐ -

TF_hydrotonesteve,its a bit funny for a random computerised draw it randomlypicked this in order makins 1st 4 as follows steve cooke, geoff ringer, steve jackson, mick bull, phil ringer VIADUCT steve jackson, nathan watson, matt hall, niel mccinon WOODLANDS VIEWnathan watson, clive wright, mick bull TUNNEL BARN steve cooke, matt hall, rob hitchens, clive wright, mick bull,GOLD VALLEY same old story same old names these are from 4 qualifers i randomly picked if you study the reserve lists, you will not see many of the above names just seems me and joe blobbs dont come into it just seems a bit1sided to me as 200 people apply for each round
-
10/02/2014 at 10:36 pm #170805
TF_wonderwozThe first few names at the top of the lists are those of former winners who automatically get a number of tickets. Thus they appear at the top of lists. To be fair if you study the reserve lists they are littered with so called superstar names so your logic doesn’t add up. What do people think that the angling trust gain from rigging the draw? Surely they would prefer a not so well known angler win the thing, thus making think that anyone can win it! Thus increasing demand for tickets.
At the end of the day if this randomised draw didn’t take place and the format for gaining tickets was different many people would never get tickets because demand is too high! Just look at the numbers of reserves on each qualifier! If matchthis is the answer for people then fair play to you but in future when there’s a massive demand for tickets that you can’t get on or spend hundreds of pounds on tickets on the 1st of jan when most people are skint you’ll all be praying for a random draw on that too. Mark my words! Just sour grapes IMO, I play the lottery every week but I don’t go on forums crying that I have not won. I applied for 6 and got 3 but if I’d have got none I wouldn’t be bothered I’d just do some maver ones. Rant over! Ha! -
11/02/2014 at 8:34 am #170774
TF_Daz NewellI think you have missed the point a bit here…..
Surely the computerised draw system you go on about could make it a bit more shared out….as stated some have 6 & 7 entries so surely it would be fair to say instead of giving said angler all these and another angler hasnt got any so give him 1 or 2 and SHARE it about.
Say max it to 3 venues each and if not full then let them in for an entry….BUT so long as its gettin full every year nobody will give a fcuk especially them who keep gettin in. -
11/02/2014 at 7:49 pm #170827
AnonymousOk so you’re 20th reserve at a venue 130 miles away. Do you go with fingers crossed? Never been a high reserve before so not sure of the chances.

11/02/2014 at 9:41 pm #170828
TF_hydrotoneif demand is so high for this competition why dont the organisers look how they could better the competion they could move the dates to a bank holiday weekend, on the saturday they could have fishomania for club anglers and non sponsered anglers who have qualified the same as it is run now over 16 venues these qualifiers being fished on weekends instead of midweek with the winner picking up 15 to 20 grand, and on the sunday have the big boys final which would consist of past winners and finalistsand pro anglers who would still fish qualifiers to deter who would make the final and pick up a bigger bag of cash ,a bit like the premier league and the champions league, and on the bank holiday monday have the home inters just a thought and idea at least people get a chance

16/02/2014 at 2:53 pm #170872
TF_rjaysHow can you compare it to the lottery?…theres about two and a half million tickets sold for that!
and how many peoeple do you know who have had 8 goes on lotto and won 6 times? -

What a stupid statement, you only applied for 2, if you applied for 16 you probably would have got 6 or 7, maybe more!

TF_bagging machineParticipantSo how many should i have got Nathan if i applied for 5???
-
17/02/2014 at 10:04 pm #170816
TF_rjaysGot to agree with Nathan……I have never applied…does it cost anything to apply (other than membership)…if not…why not apply for 16..increase your chances of getting one…and if its too far away..surely you can decline it?…..or is that too obvious that no-one can see it?
-
18/02/2014 at 12:23 am #170817
TF_Daz NewellWhy you stating my comment Nathan…..there are others saying the same.
Dont think you can decline them rjays as your debit/visa card would be debited the amount. -

You said you only applied for 2, not much chance of getting 6 or 7 have you!? ๐ฎ

TF_Daz NewellWhere does it say i want 6 or 7…eh…… were….
-
18/02/2014 at 4:21 pm #170908
TF_NathanWatsonMy point is that you are saying it’s wrong that others get 6 or 7!!!!!! But why is it wrong as they probably apply for 10-16! Obviously there are the few members of the veterans’ club that get 5 guaranteed tickets, whether that’s rigght or wrong, I don’t know!
-
19/02/2014 at 8:43 am #170923
TF_JamesBryanI applied for 1 and got it, my brother applied for 2 and got both… It’s just luck of the draw as is fishing.
I wasn’t expecting to get mine and others shouldn’t either. If you only apply for 1 or 2, you can’t expect to get one or either of them. Better off applying for a few to increase your chances.
