I can tell you that at the Suffolk Water Park it is the feeding of floating baits that is banned. You can zig rig a bait that floats if you want but it must be below the surface and away from the attentions of any water fowl.

The reasons are simple -1. Floating baits do not stay within the confines of your peg. 2. Wildlife pick up and eat baits on the surface.

They changed the rule on this 3 or 4 years ago.
They said 2 tins of catmeat, and 2 kilos of chum mixers!
I am sure they meant to say 2 pints, as 2 kilos is 10 pints, i measured it when the rule came out!

Ginger, there is no feeding of any floating baits allowed at Makins anymore.
I believe that it is left to each match organisor to decide wether anglers can use a floating bait on the hook though in there particular match but you defo cant feed any floating baits..Hope this helps.
