AnonymousStaff bull will be on later to comment. He’s owned every pole ever made, some of them for over two months!
I’ve got the Super Legion and can’t fault it to be honest. Possibily not the lightest of the new crop of poles but very strong.
Only gripe is all the tubes it came in warped within weeks and had to be chucked.

TF_craigmI know 2 blokes that bought the Super Legion and both are now back using their M1’s and have sold the SL’s. I’ve never used one properly myself, I did have a go of one and it felt ok, not really sure why they sold them.

TF_Staff BullYo Tench I’m here haha.
In my honest opinion I think the M1 is a better pole than the SL. It’s without a doubt stronger and I’d say stiffer too. I thought the m1 was up there with every pole I’ve had. Definately better than the Airitys I’ve had. Superb pole mate.
I loved mine. Only swapped it to try a Colmic x5000. But believe me if I don’t like the x5000 it’ll be goin and I’ll be getting another m1. -

TF_Mike HerringtonHi Tench, I have the M1 (for about 2 years or so) and i was thinking about ‘upgrading’, but after reading various people’s views (yes it is their views) and chatting with people about other poles out there, I think that I will stick with the M1.
it is definitely strong enough and I also think stiff enough and most importantly for me, it is a stiff pole when playing a fish, therefore the elastic does most of the work.

TF_tench0771thanks for the replys guys π the m1 sounds like a nce bit of kit .staff bull how does the balance of the m1 compair to the airity at 16m does it fiel more comfortable to fish with and is it miles stiffer cos a friend had the airity an i was dissapointed with the stiffness it was very lite an balanced but my map parabolix was just as stiff but more top heavy but felt stronger

TF_Mike HerringtonI had an airity for….3 days
Bought it Thursday, elasticated it Friday, used it Saturday, ebay’d it Sat night and sold it Monday.
I bought it in between having a Gmax1000 and the M1 and I was disappointed to be honest. It was lighter at 16m, but it also bent too much when a fish was hooked and I did not feel in control of the fish.
Regarding topkits – get powerlite kits. The weight of them is negligible against he matchlite kits (10 gm’s). If you get the new powerlite kits with the extra 12 in of wrap on the bottom of them, you can drill straight into them to put a side pulla.

TF_Staff BullHello Tench, I pretty much agree with Mike to be honest mate. I thought the m1 was better than the Airity at 16m although the m1 was a bit harder to handle in the wind as it is so stiff. By no means am I saying the Airity is a bad pole because it’s far from it. It’s a superb pole and I’ve had 4 of them. I just prefer the m1 as I felt more in control of the rig, fish etc. It doesn’t bend as much as the Airity with fish on it either and I liked it more for slapping than the Airity because of the control I felt I had.
Hope this helps mate.
Saying all this I went out with the Colmic x5000 today for the first time and I have to say I am very very impressed with it especially at 16m. -

TF_tench0771ive hurd very good things about the x5000 how to u rate that stiffness wise com paired to the m1 ps just to clarify would u say the m1 fiels beta balanced than the airity at 16m ie less tip heavy?

TF_Staff BullX5000 isn’t as stiff as the m1 mate. It’s close though. It’s balance and responsiveness is absolutely awesome though. To me the m1 is better balanced than the Airity. But remember that’s just my opinion, someone else’s could be totally different.

TF_Staff BullYou won’t go far wrong with an m1. They are seriously good poles.

TF_MatchcarpJust goes to show how peopleβs opinions differ, I too have had every pole Garbolino have produced since the original Super Legion and found my M1 to be heavy and unwieldy at length because it was beefed up for the “slappers”. The SL in my opinion is fantastic and a pleasure to use at all lengths so I think at the end of the day it comes down to what it always does “Personal Opinion”. Do your best to try different poles and make your own decision would be my advice.

TF_Daz NewellI had an M1 12 months ago but like most other anglers i upgraded to the Super Legion which i have had for the past 12 months…nice pole but not as stiff as my M1,which i also think the M1 is by far easier to use at lengths…hence why i have now sold my SL and now i was just fortunate enough to be put onto finding an M! and now have a brand spanking new one.
M1 for my vote by far.
Each to their own tho.
