I am going to invest in a few more top kits…

I can see the advantage of matchlite over a standard top 3 (cost & weight) but why would I choose powerlites over standard power kits?

The powerlites are heavier and more expensive.

the power lites are far lighter and better balanced than standard powerkits, better diameter at the tip too (always found you had to cut far too much off the originals to get a decent diameter bore) you pick up a match lite and a power lite and you can hardly tell the difference, then try a normal power kit against a powerlite, big difference, most noticable at full length on the pole

ok, fair enough…but my power kits weigh 40g compared to the powerlites @ 42g.

The wider bore could be useful, since my current powers are cut back to the length of my match kitswith no1s removed which means the bore is not that wide.

are those the weights of the cut kits? this is what will make the difference. If you cut the same length off a wider bore kit, you’re taking off more carbon, so the weight will come down quicker when you use the hacksaw.

I can just say having experienced all the tops at length on the g8, the pole seemed stiffest primarily with the matchlite on, then the powerlite/standard match kit (very similar) then the standard power kit. have you weighed the original power kits at 40g? or is that just a quoted weight, because i would say having held them both that the powerlite was lighter.

the weights are quoted from Garbolino’s website…it would make sense that the powerlites should be lighter.

thanks for your input…it confirms what I thought should be true
