had a go with this pole today, better balanced than g10,a touch softer which should be a good thing.had it up at full length and unless it changes with use the finish on the graphic sections is poo.still a hand full at 16m.

How can it be better balanced than the G10 and still be a handfull at 16m my G 10 is not a handfull at 16m ~think ~think

surprised at the comment about being a handful at 16mt – i have got the gmax 1000, traded in the G10 for it – i found it to be better balanced than the G10 and fished 16mts shallow for half the match yesterday without any problems. Agree the graphics aren’t fantastic but shipping in/out very good.
All in all a great pole which i am sure will get the same following as the G10

was it really necessary for garbolino to replace the g10 already~think

What is there to possibly improve? Its already the longest and stiffest pole on the market, has a good finish, is strong, perfect top kit length. The only slight complaint is that it gets a bit heavy at 16m, but garbolino clearly havent altered that with the gmax because the stats show that its actually heavier! Im not impressed really, it echoes the whole Maver thing with constant upgrades. If the spares prices for the g10 increase now that it has been discontinued, then rest assured it will be the last garbolino pole i ever buy.

Surely stats dont mean a thing, closed material weight compared to balance and feel are two completely different things.

In my opinion the gmax is better balanced pole that feels lighter because of this!!

With ref constant upgrades, how long has the g10 been out 3 years + ??????

Correct Simon the G10 is over three years old now – I think the timing of the G MAX 1000 was just right, I have had my G10 since it was first launched and thought it time Garbolino upgraded it …… Can’t wait to get hold of my new GMAX 1OOO later this week as I know they have improved the balance I expect it to be awesome………
