How do mate.
This will be the first year that we have not been to the Cudmore final as we are away in Cornwall.
However, as for getting there, we always get there around 9ish, after a breaky on the way.
The food in there on the vans is expensive in my mind compared to a good breakfast elsewhere.
The parking last year was moved to the same side as the lakes, which i thought was loads better. There are plenty of parking martials around directing traffic and they do a good job.
We always take a few carp chairs with us, along with a couple of fishing brolly’s just in case it rains – this makes it well comfortable to be honest.
We also take food, beer and tea/coffee in a flask – total self sufficiency!
We have always pitched up the chairs and the brollys opposite the Sky telly box on the high ground, but i suppose if you are going to watch an individual angler, you would want to get behind them?
The other thing we always take is 2 pair of binoculars as they really do make for a better day – you can ping all the other anglers, there floats going under, see them landing there fish without moving and much much more.
There is on course betting which gets busy the closer to the start time and it is very well run indeed. The on course booky is next to the weigh in board, which gets updated every 40 mins or so and another good reason for the binoculars, as you can ping the ongoing weigh ins as they happen.
All round Sky/Cudmoor have got it well sorted mate – take a few things to make it well comfortable and you will have a superb day out.
Word of warning – the traffic cue to get back to the motorway can be horrendous if you leave right at the death, as there are a set of traffic lights at the junction with the lane and the motorway which holds everything back.
Have a good day.
