Loads of info and discussion on this site about clothing. Also on Google
‘Results 1 – 10 of about 51,600 English pages for goretex jackets clothing’ from the UK

All I would say is that Goretex is the registered trade mark for a certain breathable water proof membrane. It has been around for an awful long time now. It is a very good product which is why it is still around. However, there are very good copies about that do the same job for less money.

If you want Goretex and an ‘angling’ product then have a look at Halkon Hunt.

However there are plenty of Goretex jackets, over trousers and salopettes available for climbers, birdwatchers and boaters but not in great colours for angling maybe.

If you are happy with a Goretex ‘copy’ that in my opinion is just as good but not so expensive then take a look at the Protak TR range.

Sits back and waits for the usual Protak/HH debate.

If you have a TK Maxx store near you go and have a look at the stuff in there. WInters the best time as they have lots of skiing saloppettes and the like but at the moment they have lots of Nike golfing GoreTex. You can pick up a thin jacket for around £70.
