i was reading an article the other day and it spoke about coating placing a pellet in a bait band and then covering it with ‘hard as nails’ nail polish. Does this stop the water from soaking into the pellet and thus lengthening the time it can stay in the water and also making it tougher, so you dont have to change it so often. i assume if this is true, it would also work when using a hair rigged pellet with a stop?

If you are going to do that, why not just use a plastic pellet?

Another way is to place a few pellets in an aerosol cap drop superglue onto them whilst stirring quickly, this seals them quite well and you can catch a few fish, without changing hookbaits.

just thought it might be a good way if you are catching a few, or if you arent.

I’m sure Grant does this, with shallow pellet and pole fishing, if i rememeber rightly he won the parkdean fishing lassood varnished pellets.

Interesting question, makes you think how much time it might save pellet waggler fishing, less opening up lassoo’s or stretching bands, as you’d have multiple fish on one pellet ??

So do you think its good for the fish, eating a varnished pellet that they may not be able to digest and which contains plenty of solvents or other toxic substances?

Wako did it when he won the parkdean as well. Lasso your pellet and tie up a hair rig, then varish the pellet. Make a few hair rigs up like this, or shallow rigs for the pole, and change as and when (if) the pellet starts 2 deteriorate. Cracking time saver, and its not like your feeding the fish varnished pellets!
