Fellow Matchmen,
The AT Team Championships, often referred to as the Winter League, has been running for over 30 years, and for the majority of that time this area has been represented in the Championship by the Hants, Wilts, and Dorset Winter League. To enable the top two teams in each league to take part in the Semi Final stages of the competition each year the participating leagues must have a minimum of five, ten man teams, and sadly, for the first time in its long history, only three teams have committed to fish the HWADWL for the 2010 season.
In the other three teams that have declined to make a formal team entry I am aware that there are individuals who still wish to fish in the AT Champs, and I am also aware there are several clubs and organisations in this area who might wish to expand their winter fishing by taking part in the 6 match series that constitutes the campaign.
Rather than going into too much detail here I would like to invite you to a meeting at the Ringwood Social Club on the evening of Monday the 22nd of March at 07:45pm, there will be no formal Agenda but I will take some time to explain how the League has been organised in the past, and also how much it might cost to enter a team in the league. I would then like to see if there is an opportunity to find the 20-30 anglers to make up the two or three teams required to secure the future of a participating League in this area.
If there is an individual or club that you think might wish to attend the meeting please invite them along as all are welcome and if you would like any additional information please feel free to give me a call on 07921247234. The details for the Ringwood Social Club follow and I look forward to meeting you on the evening of Monday 22nd March at 07:45pm.
Best Regards
Dave George,
Chairman of the Hants, Wilts, and Dorset Winter League.
