Have our posts been dumped?

Ere! have the moderators been dumping our posts again? everything over a month old has gone?

Look at the ‘Big Fish’ forum!?

The database log was full, so you would expect posts to be deleted! For the last few weeks, the site was a slow, so it was a sign like last time!

The moderators have not been dumping posts…..

That is not what we do,that is the server managers,who are well up the food chain…….

And as if it hadn’t been noticed beofre……….

Every night,so many pages are “Dumped”,in order to keep the site running mormally,and not clutter up the server..i.e,everything over a month old………….

If you look on the coarse site,at the last page,look at what is on it,then check again tomorrow,you will see………

All us moderators do,is change details for folk,watch for colourfull language,and remove it,along with the offending persons log in details………

From what you said above I gather that pages are ‘deleted’ on a daily basis to free space? I take your word for it as you are a moderator and you know what is going on. Also it can be seen that the pages dissapear from the access page.

But can you explain why a thread that I’ve bookmarked was still accessible a few months later? What I understand is that the page is stored in an archive and just can’t be access from the main page but is still on the server.

I do not know how they work mate………

All I know is that everyday,so many pages of old threads are removed,to keep the site running…

Just seems a tad unfair that we seem to be down to five pages in our back catalogue when the course forum boys are down to a mere 48 pages why not put a pages limit on it and not time, those beggars are very busy using space……

It is out of my hands bud……

I am more coarse angler than sea angler,but I do like to throw out a few ounces of lead into the North sea……..
It just goes on how busy it is I guess………

The coarse side is exceptionally busy,with the sea/specimen side,isn’t…….but still needs a clean down………..

I know it might seem unfair,but all the forums are subject to the same rules and regulations,and clean ups…..

Like it or lump it,that is how it is……….
