Hello all! i know this is a little bit early but im looking for a xmas present for my dad. My dad fishes lakes and rivers (if that helps!) as you can tell im not very up to speed on the fishing front which is why im here! i want to get him some sort of book or dvd to do with fishing, he has been fishing for about 10 years so im not after a beginners guide to fishing but something that is grown up and has lots of knowledge for him to gain in it, if there isnt any books or dvds to recommend i am open to any suggestions of presents, either ones you have received or ones you have give to a fellow fisher. Any help would be amazing as im at a loose end! look forward to hearing your suggestions!

Books on fishing are quite rare and date very quickly as the sport evolves. The selection of DVD’s available is very good, the Match Fishing Mags own web site has references to the large selection available. It might help if you could extract from your dad the type of DVD he would like. The range is huge and you need to ensure what you buy is relevant to the type of fishing he does. If you want a good book probably the best that has been produced recently is a passion for angling but you may need to research it a bit to locate a copy.
It was also a sucessfull tv series highlighting the wonders of the country side as much as the technicalities of fishing itself. John Wilson too might be worth a google to see what he has available as a general fishing book on the same lines. Keith Arthur too I think has been in print recently. Never too early for Santa, I ordered the grand kids presents in August!!
