Hi ive just bought a new 11m pole, i know how to elasticate it…… thats not the problem , its even more basic that i need to know! i have a match top3 and a power top2, but do the top sections run into each other(telescopically) or put over each other (like rest of pole???????). its so basic i know but these top sections appear to be able to do either, so its stumped me, what is the norm???? and whats best way to store spare top sections? please help many thanks from a newbie

Choggy, normally on match top 3’s the thinnest (number one)section slides through the number 2 (telescopic),then the number two slides over the number 3,your power top two should be put together too.
Sections that can be put together with an overslide of at least 2 inches will be put over like the rest of the pole.

thank you for that , so a match kit is telescopic, and the power kit put over? so a winder bung would be best for storage to release the tension of the elastic on the power 2?,, sorry if i appear ignorant to poles~think …. but i am any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you

Not quite choggy, the only part of the match kit that should be telescopic is the number one (thinnest piece)
Some cheaper match kits are all telescopic.
See if the number 2 and 3 fit together if they don’t then it must be telescopic.

As for elastication, most people use a short piece of elastic on elastics smaller than a size 8,just elasticating, the number 1 and 2 sections of a match kit, therefore assuming your match kit is putover (between sections 2 and 3)you can use a winder bung.
On larger elastics in your power kit, fitting elastic through the whole kit is advisable, again using a winder bung.

I normally keep my cupping kit inside the pole in transit (as i know i will definately need that top)and top kits loose in a standard rod tube.
Does your pole all pack away into one?

it packs away into one but has a plastic tube for the match top (telescopic bit). the power 2 has nothing so ill have to look for a tube of some sort
