TF_Hippo HunterI saw the MAP Twin core in the tackle shop the other day and was very impressed. The 6-10 (white) looks spot on to replace white hydro!

Have to say the nick gilbert amber core is really good. I would say it is as good as the hydro I was using previously. And a fraction of the price.. 🙂

TF_CriagH66What is the difference between Nick Gilberts Amber Core and Twin Core elastics?
What grade would be best to replace
White Hydro
Black Hydro
Purple Hydro -

TF_Col_WAmber core powers up quicker, not used it mind, only use the twin core in Green (white Hydro Replacement) & yellow (Black Hydro rep). Still use Purple Hydro as the stronger grades start getting pretty thick.
Got to say the NG stuff is very good value for money, give it a try. 🙂 -

TF_paulk66The amber core ratings are white 6-10,green 10-14, black 12-16 and purple 14-18. I have 2 of each but only used the white and green so far. Both very good…

TF_MatchcarpI notice the NG stuff is only 2.5mts which is a sensible move to keep the price down, I haven’t used any of it yet but have read many good reviews about it so I’m going to give it a try, you can get three lengths for the price of one length of hydro practically so I’ll give it a shot see how it performs. I’ve tried other hollow elastics which start off great but quickly lose their momory then you end up cutting it back and cutting it back and then all the action is lost so here’s hoping this stuff performs???

Nick sells his elastics in 3 different lengths to avoid waste… 🙂

TF_MatchcarpOh right, didn’t realise that, I’ll look again, I was trying to think how much hydro I was throwing away from a 3mt length?

Anonymousi used to fish a few commercials occasionally a few years ago and always had a few power kits elasticated.after a few years not using them i finally decided to check them.there were several different companies elastics and the one in the best condition was MIDDY hollow which i had in two of my top kits.needless to say they have all been replaced by MIDDY.
