One thing i picked up from Andy May was that the 15cm hooklengths i was using for fishing pellet on the deck and shallow was too long. Andy only uses 8cm long ones and after using them the bites were alot more positive.

Now, At what point would you use a 15cm one?..maggot, meat, corn or shallow?.

Interesting, is this because he can get shot closer to the hook with out putting it on the hook length??

youngy i personally never use 15cm hooklentghs for carp on the pole i use 7cm ones, the only time i would use say a 15cm hooklentgh or longer would be either pellet wag or bomb work and when fishing for silvers on a lake for example so i could lay line on the deck if needed
