TF_cormorantDiddy123,
there are five lakes at hordle and you will need to know which of the five you are to fish.
bob’s/long/willow/canal or tench lakes???
Suggest you try Selfey as I have not fished it for a couple of years.

TF_SelfeyHi Ian sorry for the delay in replying was out watching Saints last night just recovered…
Right there are several lakes on the complex and all are being used.
Canal is a canal 8 pegs fish to the far side carp i was on peg 1 three weeks ago and won the lake with 55lbs. 0.14 18 hook dibber tight over maggot. Nicky Collins done a big weight on silvers before the cold snap but they havent shown since.
Willow lake has two small islands that you can pole to.The rest is wag or method and down the edge again carp but there are a few skimmers in there not a good lake.
Long lake is good the day I was there last it was won with 80 odd lbs with another 80 and a 70 all carp most pegs have islands or the far side to fish to and of course the margins the monk is the flyer fish into the corner.
Tench lake is pole work to the far side two end pegs that are the flyers and wag or method to the far side in the middle again margins produce good lake looking for a ton.
Bob lake the biggest lake on the complex. The dam wall is one end with an island facing wag up in the water can produce or method to the island. To the right the first pegs are known as the caravan bank there is a shallow bar about 3 rod lengths out wag on this is def way to a ton. The rest of the pegs have island or feature chucks. This is the best silvers lake and 70lbs have been had. Quality roach. Best lake of all
Spring lake is at the top the pegs with your back to bobs are best all have islands to fish to the one with all the stick ups is best Strong gear needed on that peg. The ones round the back all have features to fish to all pole work.Bait wise take 4mm and 6mm pellet for wag. For the pole start on corn and if you struggle on to the maggot. Margins hemp and corn. For the silvers its the caster.
Should be a great match as this is only the second time the whole complex has been booked for one match. The last time I had booked it for winter league but it didnt get used and Shaun took the date and held a big open.
Hope this helps there will be plenty of advice on the morning Guess that nicky or Woodhouse will be there.

TF_foxycanal lake- 16 to 17mtrs wide, 5ft middle of the track, 2 to 3ft inside and over. most weights come to corn over pellet over to the far bank rush, 20lb of roach can be used to back up weights usally caught bottom of near shelf (4mtrs) maggot over micro, target weight 50 to 90lb on form days.
carp average 3 to 5lb black hydro soft.
roach white hydro gives you a chance as usally carp move in and out on this line.
change bait 6mm expander.willow lake- oval lake with an island at each end, same depths as canal, corn over pellet to islands same down the margins, open water pegs 6mm expander over micro for skimmers average 1/2 to 1lb 15 to 20lb possible on form days.
target weight 30 to 60lb ofd.
waggler dropping through to full depth can be useful on open water pegs in the middle of the lake.tench lake- open water lake no islands 3 to 4ft deep noted pegs each end corn or expander over micro inside and out chance to throw waggler or bomb to far bank as its only pegged one side.
same average size carp as above.long lake- bowl at one end with two islands running into a 16mtr neck depths corn over to islands and margins skimmers have been showing to 6mm expander over micro 15 to 20lb.
target weight 70 to 90lb.bobs lake- dam wall 8ft rest 5 to 6ft deep, method to islands grounbait and maggot, skimmers and bream 6mm expander over 4mm hard, roach maggot over gounbait or caster.
target weight 70 to 100 ofd
roach weights 25 to 40lb possible
skimmer 30 to 40lb.if its frozen most lakes wil respond to maggot over micro for roach and hope the carp move in good luck nathan.
