      Up in the water

I understand theres no real rules to this kind of thing BUT………..On deep venues up to 15ft how deep would you look at fishing your shallow rigs? I’m talking this time of year where venues contain carp but your targeting roach, skimmers and chub.

Just wondered if anyone had there own ideas on the best way to tackle such a situation~think ~think

        Cheers

24″ I used to fish a few deep venues shallow not commercials either and I think you need a couple of foot plus. 36″ is the deepest I would go even if its 15ft deep I have tried fishing shallow deep ie 6ft deep in 10ft of water but the feeding becomes complicated.

I’d go as much a 6 foot if needed even more, you can catch on Pollawyn at white acres fishing like that.

              all depends on the day
i regular fish a water thats 15 foot deep and they are rarely on the deck!
ive caught 2ft 3ft 4ft deep on the pellet wag even in winter
but sometimes the little buggers are just sitting off bottom like 12 inch off the deck
u will catch em on the deck but for some reason u have to wait longer for the bites and contend with weird bites (liners)

yer i know what u mean ptb, just that when fishing in that depth constently coming up in 6 inch intervals can take a bloody long time lol! and sometimes they wont settle at a certain depth either…
i usually set up 3 rigs on the pole line, one at dead depth where i can lay on six inch or come up six inch depending on conditions, one at half depth where i can also use on my 5m line and one at 2-3 ft incase they do come up..
ive pleasured this lake loads of times and tried allsorts, ie constantly pulting in maggots/pellets and fetching them up, also bombing down a few balls of g-bait at the start and trying to keep em on the deck, all these work but never seem to at match time lol!

btw its skimmers im fishing for but there is also a good head of large carp and tench which again can be caught at any depth!
