TF_AnthonywatersParticipantHot topic in Matchfishing mag, what’s everones opinions I don’t believe its an extensive problem to any degree where organisers glorify their attendences, I’ve never experienced it myself.

TF_joffmiesteryour only cheating yourselves kammo points are watched very closely and i as a match organiser had been asked to plus the numbers up and by anglers you would never think my answer to these anglers is take a look at the balance sheet the numbers are all there for everyone to see so would you like me to cheat as well !! didn’t think so !! 😉 😉 😉
tony keeling is a close friend of mine and keeps the competition in order glorifying attendance is a no no for me

AnonymousI agree with you, Joff. There where some complaints over the numbers at Brookside that where published in the Angling Mail a few years ago and that had Kammy points awarded. Its something that most of the anglers dont agree with who fish at that fishery.
As Johnny Mac hints at. It was also the weights that where pushed up in an attempt to draw more anglers to the fishery. Very annoying but not much we can do apart from let the Angling Mail know if the fishery is pushing the attendence up to 50 when there are sometimes less than 40 anglers in those matches. Some of us also walked away from the fishery as it was not great thinking we where about to fish a 50+ pegger that was fishing very well. When, in fact only 40 anglers at best where attending and the fishing was average at best. Those in the know take the reports from that fishery with a pinch of salt now!
There was also some issues with the attendence at Cudmore a few years ago. In truth, we are only talking about 1 or 2 anglers short of the 50 needed to make some of those matches Kammy points qualifiers. I know the fishery was carefully looked at re its attendences and i think one angler might have lost Kammy points that cost him the title. I personally missed out on more than 15 points in one season at Cudmore because the attendence was 1 or 2 anglers short of the 50 anglers needed to qualify for Kammy points (Match attendence published correctly at 48 or 49). That was after the issues highlighted above. Its just one of those things and even though i did have 17 points at the end of September. I was never chasing Kammy points so it was never an issue. Would never of wanted points for those matches as they where never the full 50+ peg matches. Rules are rules and there has to be a cut off at some point which i except with that competition.

TF_AnthonywatersParticipantKamasan point needs lowering to 40.

TF_joffmiesterwhy lowering  that would make a mockery of the competition if you want to a kammo winner its up to you to chase the points anglers like Mark pollard has chased his match from the day the competition started must be the most consistent angler in the competition yet has never won it 😉

TF_AnthonywatersParticipantlower it to 40 it would still be the same concept it would still be a level playing field.

TF_jbbrockleyYes it does happen, also ive seen matches not reported / phoned in when weights were poor/lower than normal. It was certainly done when the county champs was running , thus helping venue regulars gain more points, with inflated attendances.

it would be much easier to inflate the numbers for one thing and it wouldn’t encourage anglers to move from one venue .the kammo is about all-round ability and not sticking to one venue all season which it is turning towards in resent years 😉
