24/03/2010 at 10:10 pm #99839
tournament_proread the match rules on lindholme official web site
‘NO slapping’
or is that relating to pole tapping?
-
24/03/2010 at 10:12 pm #99840
TF_NathanWatsonI know tapping is banned but slapping was certainly allowed at the weekend, well no-one complained anyway!

tournament_proha ha as harry hill would say…….FIIIIIIIGHT
when I read it I did wonder how the f*ck you can police not slapping a rig in
I actually think its been re-worded on the lindholme website it made it sound like you had to lower your rig in without making a noise or splash
-
24/03/2010 at 11:12 pm #99852
TF_Baku BlankerParticipantYou can slap your rig its pole tapping that got stopped last year the weights were getting silly on the that method with no float and just a shot on the line
-

TF_neil gIts says on the web site
No Tapping or slapping of poles.
Nothing mentioned of rigs!!!!!!
The only thing that could be flapping or slapping together on Sat will be your EARS in the wind Nathan HA HA HA

im all for fish welfare bans but not banning methods just because other people dont like it. if you dont like it go somewhere else that bans everything.

Tournament pro the reason it got banned was the weights were getting silly using it there is more than enough fish in lindolme with out using this method, and have you ever sat beside some one thrashing the F**k out of the water for 5 hours it does your head in.
-
25/03/2010 at 8:41 pm #99955
tournament_proso it got banned because it was catching too many fish your saying…?
If the method wins every single match from now till autumn will it be banned…..NO
As for do I find it annoying….not in the slightest. As long as its not bad for fish welfare and it doesnt interfere with the guy next to you (eg flaoting baits) I believe everyone should be able to fish how they like, after the winter we’ve all sat through lets go out and enjoy ourselves!!

25/03/2010 at 10:29 pm #99978
TF_neil gThe reason i band it was because it was bordering on floating pole the fish was starving and becoming easy to catch has no one was feeding, just tapping and using a direct line.
Weights got silly and become so hard to weigh in. -

TF_Rad~think didnt mat win the last fisho match tapping the water with the pole. ~think Sure it was shown on sky how he was doing it as id never seen it done before~think

TF_Baku BlankerParticipantTournament pro whats your problem you like shallow fishing and you can get up to 200lb just fishing shallow with pellet or caster or do u like fishing with no float and tapping the water thats really skillfull !! your loss not going to one of the best fisheries in the country (If you like the brain dead method try a Friday Afternoon match when you can use any method)

TF_MatchcarpAndy you are as good as anyone at shallow fishing – why bother about stupid tapping and slapping – Rely on your feeding skills –
You mentioned fish welfare and Neil gave you the answer, the fish were being starved which isn’t good on such a heavily stocked fishery as Bonsai – We all have our likes and dislikes about any fishery but you as a pole angler are on the same footing as all the rest of us – I get my ass kicked week in week out by the method feeder men – I have the option to join them I choose not to but it doesn’t stop me going – You are missing out on some excellent sport by not going – The waggler is now competing with the method, don’t you fancy that as a float angler ? -
26/03/2010 at 10:20 am #100014
TF_JohnHThe problem with too many rules is policing them.
Whilst anyone can spot someone tapping fishing long how about in the margins?
I comment as I have see this done at W/A where tapping has been banned for years. -
26/03/2010 at 11:24 am #100021
tournament_proIf I owned a fishery I would make everyone use a float when fishing the pole, I have no problem with that rule what so-ever.
However I would allow pole tapping, its not some method that makes fish jump into your net, its just another way of adding a fex extra fish.
My main beef is that the shallow lads seem to get hammered the most with rules, not as much lindholme but other fisheries.
take tunnel barn, its pretty much anything goes…unless you want to fish shallow then there’s minimum line, minimum depth, must have a flot on, properly shotted etc etc.
Interesting Q for Neil G, since you banned tapping have the pellet sales increased much?

TF_NathanWatsonYou still feed when you’re tapping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nowt wrong with it in my opinion.

TF_neil gAndrew the pellet sales has not increased enough to finnish or even start back on my new house i have been building for 4 years.
I suppose you object to that has well.
But i have built the New Cafe and Tackle shop for you all to use. !!!!!!!!!!! -

tournament_proI have no problem with fishey pellets.
If I had a fishery id do the same I think with out fisheries doing it the, pegs fees would have to go up instead.
My point was you said pole tapping was banned because people werent feeding so I was wondering if you had seen pellet sales increase, ie the fish are getting fed now
