          Hi Colin,

Lets see if I can help you out a bit.

Depths 4.5ft – 5.5ft 2.5ft and shallower on your edge lines.
Methods: Pellet feeder, method feeder and pole lines 5m and edges.
Baits: pellets, paste and corn for edges.
          Pole rigs : 0.3 – 1.5gr plus

Depending on how many you have on there will determine how it fishes usually anything over 24 can make it a struggle.

Pegs in the narrows run from 1 to 11 outside the cabin peg 8 can be a great peg because you can reach the bar at 16m. Far side from 55 (end peg) to 45 then it opens out (wides) peg 11 can also be a good peg as it’s the last one in the narrows before it opens up.

The end pegs in the wides used in matches are 28 and 31, A word of warning though! When you see this lake, you will think it looks great whens its windy you will hate it lol. That’s why i put 0.3 – 1.5gr rigs plus if its really bad most don’t bother with a pole, because even fishing 5 m can be diffcult.

Wherever you draw first find the bar which runs down the whole lake anything from the middle in the narrows to this side of middle in the wides. Best just to have a few casts to find it. i will enclose a list of pegs we use in a league on there with 24 fishing the idea being to stagger it so your not bang opposite someone.

Most start by casting to the bar with a pellet feeder or method and your probably find you will catch a couple early then nothing. If your lucky to be still catching I would stay on it.

At present the 5 – 6m line as been very productive feeding pellet and fishing a 6ml or 8ml on a band. (you didn’t mention when you are going) but at present don’t be afraid to feed aggressively. Just going over the top of your feed pellet with a lump of paste as also been working, just feed this line from the start 8-10 6ml and as i said when you actually start to fish this line don’t be afraid to give it some.

Edges: I would say find what you are comfortable with left and right and feed micros and corn one side and just 6s the other side. sometimes GB and meat can be good but i find you need a nice long edge for that. I think if you start off with those baits on those lines and go from there.

I didn’t mentioned a further out line because at the moment it’s fishing well on the short lines, but wind allowing you can fish further out and i would just fish a banded pellet and feed pellet and maybe a shallow rig just in case.

To win you will need carp there is a lot of smaller fish i.e skimmers which can be a nuisance especially on the paste, but when the carp are there you will know.

The pegs we use in our league is cabin side: 1,3,5,7,9,11,13,16,19,22,25,28
          far side 31,33,36,38,41,43,45,47,49,51,53,55

That’s what we use so it gives you an idea, as you can see we leave peg 8 out but that’s just what we do.

I hope this helps and feel free to ask anymore questions and I will try to help.

          All the best Del

            Wow.
Now that is an answer, thank you so much. It is a place i have never done well it seems that the pegs at the cabin end do well and the rest play catch up. I shall be fishing a club match there this Sunday.
Thank you for taking time to respond .
            Colin.

              Your welcome mate,

Weather looking okay for Sunday, not much wind which is always nice for there.

Regarding what you were saying about the narrows, it’s all down to if they fish on the day. Pegs 1 and 55 were stand out pegs along with peg 8 and a couple of others in the narrows.

Now it seems to have changed where the wides are more favourable. For instance I think it was peg 36 which won on Sunday just gone with a 140ib 5-6m line and pellet. I drew peg 16 a while back and couldn’t get the pellet to work, went over the top with paste and had 50ib.

I would say while this weather is still relatively good is to feel your way into your peg but don’t be afraid as mentioned previously to feed. Even double hand feed when playing a fish. A match a few weeks ago was won with 108ib and he fed 5pts of 8ml.. You need to see blows in your peg, no blows or fizz feed more.

Have a good one mate p.s I think there will be an open on one of other lakes that day, so I’m sure one of those lads will put you straight. I’m not there Sunday so can’t help on that front, but I’m sure you will be fine.
