I’ll be there too, weighing in coach 1 as usual. Are the Barford venues not enough for you?!

If you want more lake fishing then to the north you have Bergh Apton on the way to Norwich and Holly Farm near Acle. There must be many more, but those are two I have fished. Marsh Farm at Sternfield is to the south and Hinderclay nr Diss (previously used for Pontins Week) could be worth a visit (although I blanked there on Sunday!).

If you are after some bream fishing then get on the Waveney. I have heard of at least three 100lb+ bags on two sections just up from Oulton Broad in the last week or so. Even if they don’t feed the roach will be there. I’m going to give it a go this weekend.

I’m sure I could come up with more venues. I’ve got a new book somewhere, could post you a copy if you like!

Fish anywhere on the Thurne – it’s still full of fish and fishing better than ever.

You don’t need a boat and you don’t need to fish at night. Candle Dike, just past the eel set is easily accessible. My best day was 58 bream to 7 1/2lb but there are also plenty of Perch, Roach, Rudd and Hybrids about. Had quite a few decent size Eels as well – which is a good sign.

The book I have is actually on the net:

                  http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/regions/anglian/1110490/?version=1&lang=_e

There is a list of tackle shops too at the end. I personally use Sam Hooks, Angling Dirext at Ellough and Brundall Angling.

If you join the George Prior Engineering club at any of those shops for £6 you can fish a stretch of the Waveney near Oulton Broad. Its one of the places the bream are coming from and has stagings for easy fishing. They also have a piece of the Bure at Oby, but its a long walk. Muck Fleet Dyke is their third water. Its not wide, but is full of roach in the winter.

I might have to fish the Thurne more, sounds worth a visit!

Ok, I’m an idiot. If this doesn’t work, just go to the environment agency website, then click on “fish” in the menu on the left, then “find out where to fish in your area”. If this link does work, just click on “Anglian Fisheries Guide” on the left.

Just to update on the Waveney, I went yesterday 4-10.30pm. Fished the whip with tares for a couple of hours and had roach to 8oz, if the jack pike didn’t get them first! Set up a feeder at 7pm and had a bite every cast until I packed up. Bream between 2-4lbs were taking corn/maggot. As did a 3lb tench, which was a bonus! I still haven’t found a proper ‘slab’ yet this year, but there’s still time.
