        Angling Update 14th August
        14. September .2012
This report applies to the following rivers:-
        • Mourne
        • Derg
        • Finn
        • Owenkillew
        • Faughan
        • Roe

Conditions-This report covers the last fortnight.
A period of low water lasted for about a week and moved a lot of anglers toward the lower sections of the Foyle catchment mainly around Sion Mills and Strabane waters and anglers including overseas visitors were not disappointed. Conditions have now changed and anglers have spread out over the catchment and many have moved up unto the upper sections of our rivers and again the catches have been great.
        Catches-
River Reelan, about to close for another season as is Rivers Finn and Foyle (Sat 15th September) has fished fantastic over the past two days with one angler catching 6 Salmon in one hour another catching 18 in one day although these fish weren’t fresh run and all returned safely back to the water the fishing is fantastic.
River Finn again has produced some great catches over the past days and a number of fresh fish have been caught but are very unusual at this time of the season.
River Derg fishing has been good also with fish in similar condition to those caught in the Reelan, from the 1st September to the end of the season Derg anglers have introduced catch and release and this is to be welcomed on a river with so many early run fish.
Owenkillew River now in great order after a period of difficult low water conditions and as expected at time of our season is certainly producing quality fishing with many fresh run fish into double figures caught mainly from the rivers mid sections.
River Faughan has been fishing good most of this season on all sections but as the season has progressed fishing and catches have and will focus on the mid sections from Claudy to Ardmore.
River Roe has not benefited as much as other Foyle rivers on this occasion from recent rain falls but fishing remains good and like the Faughan fishing will be concentrated on the mid sections(Burnfoot) for the remainder of the season Day tickets are available for all the rivers outlined above and if you need further information on this please contact us.
