TF_red_hydroOn Sunday I fished a club match on Frobury Farm, which is a small lake which holds 18 pegs.
Myself and the match sec pegged the venue on Sunday morning with 17 pegs, so pegging was always going to be a bit tight for anyone who knows the venue but it would be the same for everyone.
As we set up one of the anglers come over and asked me why one of the pegs had been moved, my reply was they hadn’t, but after thinking about it, two anglers had moved themselves including the match sec without discussion with anyone else.
The match sec had moved the other person to a peg he had deamed not goood enough to go in the bag, who is a young lad by the way and he had then gone in the peg of the young angler, thus giving himself more space to fish in.
I confronted him about it before we started, but he wouldn’t reply.
My question to you all then, is this cheating ? If so, what would you do in my position, I did consider writing to both the club chairman and match sec, objecting to the result of Sundays match, as my opinion is he moved this angler and himself to influence the result
Opinions please ladies and gents
Cheers
Patrick

PoolFodderYes, it would be nice to move your peg if you don’t fancy it.

MancIf the peg the Match Sec had drawn was at a agreed (with you) point, he should have fished there. As far as moving the youth to a “No Hoper” this is in my opinion wrong.
If this had happened on one of our Blue Bell matches the outcome would probably be some form of disqualification with minor injuries.
You must all like this guy.
Was it discussed with other competitors ! -

TF_Chum MixerParticipantIts a club match and the sad act match secretary has to cheat in order to win, throw him out the club before he starts rigging his draws so that he’s got a spare peg next to him everytime.

daiwadavidParticipantFact is it’s cheating. Also as a club you have a duty to protect your minors. You should CRB check all applicants and throw them out if they have a history of violence!!

TF_Tony 9151Full blown cheating.
The lengths some will go to in order to increase their chance of winning never ceases to amaze me
Name him and shame him to the rest of the members and kick him out of the club -

TF_thesaintNO Doubt about it…Its plain Cheating….Whats the point of having pegs then if you dont like what you get, simply move your peg…Its wrong wrong wrong. If there is a problem with your peg, and we have all have moan and groans, you should consult with the comittee member and redraw, other wise its not fair on the others fishing and arguments start.

TF_red_hydroSam the man, I’ve written to the club chairman objecting to the result, I am currently waiting to see what he comes back and says. Why are you keen for me to let you know what I said, do you know the person in question
So far I am the only loser, because when this is hanging over me, I don’t particularly want to fish any more club matches with this club until this is sorted out

villa nilFished a winter league today at Blake hall, an angler ( no names ) had a bush behind his peg today and because he thought it would be in his way he apparently asked the next angler if he could move down a peg.
He was already the end peg!!
Thoughts.

TF_red_hydroAs per my point, they fish where the peg is, not where they want it to be

TF_Chum MixerParticipantred_hydro – How did you fair this weekend ?? did the man with the pegs cheat his way to victory or have we another story ??
-
01/10/2007 at 5:14 pm #64894
TF_CutnutCheating and you should have got him moved in a loud and noisy manner so everyone knew the situation, alternatively you could have had him disqualified for not fishing at the designated peg. That of course would have meant the youth was disqualified too.
He wants shaming, can’t stand people like that.

TF_red_hydroChum Mixer, I am refusing to fish any more club matches until this is resloved at the next meeting. Instead I fished a team match with a few of the lads of here at a place called Henley Park, near Guildford
Cutnut, I did object to it before the start of the match, people just shrugged there shoulders and said he was the match sec, he states the rules, or bends them in this case
