        Myself and mate Andy fished same place as a Big skate was recently caught in Harris (western isles) and he managed to land a female fish measuring 63 inches wingtip to wintip and 81 inches nose to tail full report if on wsf scottish forum

          It has been estimated at 176lb ,we also saw an even bigger skate following the hooked skate into shore , it turned away no more than 5 yds off the shore
