TF_JohnHThere was a discussion on here back in Spring about how good this method was and one of the Monthly mags editors came on promising a feature. Did it happen and if so where is it?

TF_Mike HerringtonHi Moto,
You are supposed to keep lifting and dropping the rig whilst the float stays in the water.
-
15/07/2013 at 1:28 pm #167758
TF_moto46So just to confirm the float stays below the surface of the water and you then jig the bait up and down?
-
16/07/2013 at 8:54 am #167764
TF_Mike HerringtonHi Moto, no the float will not stay beneath the water as your pole is supporting the weight of the shot (and not the float), thereby the float will sit on the surface. When you lower (jig) the shot down, the float then takes the weight of the shot and therefore sinks.
If you hold the weight of the shot, the float will bob up to the surface.

TF_moto46Aha I see thanks for confirming that I shall give it another try !

TF_Martin GWent to this years Fisho final at Cudmore, overall the day was a bit of an anti-climax as Jamie Hughes ran away with the event which was apparent he would do after the first few hours.
But more interesting than the overall result was the fact that I sat behind Lee Barratt who fished this Jigga method to great effect which proves this method is not just for F1’s which previously I assumed it was…

TF_Mike HerringtonHi Martin, no it is not just for F1’s. I used it on a club match at Woodlands Lakes Thirsk and had 18 carp for 90lb odd. Not an F1 in sight. LOL. 😉

TF_wonderwozIf you don’t mind me asking could you tell me how you set up your rig for this? Thanks in advance
-
24/07/2013 at 6:27 am #167909
TF_Mike HerringtonPut a Drennan Float stop on your line, then put on your Jigga Float, then another float stop below the float, then bulk shot, then your hooklength (4″). The gap between the two float stops determines how far you are lifting and dropping your rig be it, 6-12″ or 6″ – 2ft or whatever.

TF_JohnHThis method is in effect a bolt rig as the float is overshotted and therefore you need to hold a tight line. Rules at places like Whiteacres ban this so beware.
I think it would be ok if the float was not over shotted.
Technically shotting the line above the float, as many anglers do on conventional rigs to keep things straight breaks the same rules but not aware of any disqualifications yet. -

TF_JohnHIt is ok if its not over shotted.
W/A introduced a none over shotted rule a few years back, mainly to combat a bolt rig type of approach to silvers on caster. Giles, who used this technique had to modify his rigs to comply.
I keep harping on about shot used above the float to hold the rig straight which is often employed at W/A is surely breaking this rule?
One of the problems with rules is they end up biting you when you never expect them to. -

TF_tjghi, this method is not overshotted, only when you add a grippa stop above float it is? personally do not set my rigs up in this way anyhow.!!!! lee barrat had a day with me before fisho final and are target weight to win was 90lb( which would have won for the last 4 years?) lee had 89lb for 2nd in not a good area ,lee fished my jigga foat + jigga pot, AWSOME!!! WELL DONE TO JAMIE HUGHES FOR FISHING A BRILLIANT MATCH 🙂   ) regards ian Heywood

TF_wightanglerThanks tjg
Really like the shaker pot with foam lid – reckon that’s right handy for a lot of ‘normal’ stuff as well as the jigga,
Great article in M/F,
