all the sections and tops that came with my g10 have small arrows on to line up when assembling the pole. I just got some brand new top kits, and they dont have these arrows on~think Does it make a difference with regard to the “spine” of the pole? Why do some manufacturers put these on and others dont, surely they all would if it was important?

if you look inside the topkit you’ll be able to see the spine, then you can put a mark on the outside with a chinagraph pencil or tippex if you like.
or sometimes the alignment markers are sold on greedybay.
as for how much difference lining it up makes i’m not sure but a lot of companies do it~think

I might be wrong here, but my thoughts on joint alignment have always gone down this road……
carbon tends to wear quickly really and in aligning 2 points at exactly the same spot has the potential to wear out either or both sections in specific places?????? For this reason, i have never aligned any pole with markers on and never had any problems.
The markers are certainly never put on in a specific place, as when you look down the pole, they can be in any position on differant sections in relation to the spine position.
I think there just there for show.
