IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
It has been rumoured that the Maver Larford Complex has been closed due to fish deaths. This is categorically denied and fishing continues at the Stourport Complex. The Match lake was rested two weeks ago due to low oxygen levels and was closed for a period of one week. The management took a responsible and professional decision to minimize the health risk to its vast stocks within the Match lake by increasing oxygen levels and effectively resting the fish until correct oxygen levels had been restored.
The Match lake is now fully open and the fishing excellent.
The Arena lake is currently closed until oxygen levels have been restored to acceptable levels. Again, the management have taken a responsible view to managing its fish welfare correctly and professionally.
The Specimen lake continues to provide exceptional sport from all areas.
We have already identified a number of irresponsible anglers and certain fisheries that have falsely fueled these malicious rumours. We take a very dim view of their actions and professionalism which we will deal with through the professional channels in due course.
FACTS
Responsible fishery owners should take every consideration to protect the general welfare of its fish stocks. At Larford lakes we will protect the welfare of our fish at all times, rather than giving priority to an angler for the benefit of a day ticket sale.Situated in the heart of Worcestershire countryside, comprising of three lakes; the Specimen, the Match and the Arena, plus some of the best barbel and chub fishing on the River Severn. Larford fishery offers 250 prime lake pegs and 80 river pegs. It is our belief that one of the main ingredients which sets the fishery apart from most ‘commercial’ fisheries is the surrounding environment. Larford offers that missing ingredient which standard ‘holes in the ground’ seem to ignore.
Larford has become a firm favourite with pleasure anglers because there are huge stocks of smaller carp, roach and skimmers, meaning bites will keep coming all day long. The fact that every peg is capable of winning the fiercely contested matches means it’s popularity with match anglers is first class as the massive attendances at the weekend open matches prove.
100lb plus weights of fish are commonplace during every month of the year at Larford, such is the quality of sport available so whether it’s a case of putting a smile on your face for a few hours, practicing for the next big match or trying to capture your first double figure carp – Larford Lakes is the place to go.

AnonymousJust got back from Larford after fishing matches on Tuesday and Wednesday on the fishery. On Tuesday Specimen lake produced 99lb and 94lb with some reasonable back up weights in very difficult windy conditions. Every peg on one bank was used so not such a bad result! On Wednesday we fished on the match lake. 114lb won the match and was backed up by 104lb and several other 90lb+ weights. Again the conditions where not great with a very strong and gusty wind but almost everybody caught 40lb+. I only saw one dead fish over the 2 days i was fishing on the complex! Its the first time i,ve fished at Larford but i was very impressed and will be back very soon!

TF_boydieParticipantFished our works match on the shallow bank of the match lake last Thursday, 161lb won, 145 2nd, 135 3rd, 107 4th. Loads of backing weights, virtually everyone had 50 plus. I didn’t see any dead fish and all the ones caught were in top condition.
Larford really is an awesome complex, as for the pegging – yes they are close together but whenever I’ve been the fishery management have allowed at least ever other peg to be used so I’ve never seen it “crammed”.
