REPORT
The 19th and Final Match of the 2014-2015 ‘Season’, for the Last Bash Trophy, was fished at Jansons Fishery on their Match Lake. In spite of the bitterly cold wind the match was well attended. Unfortunately, after a start that saw carp spread over several pegs, the fish settled into a “ball” in front of two fortunate anglers for much of the match, with a few moving slightly in the final hour.
Dave McPate and Steve Talbot had the kind of day many people dream of, which in a way turned into a nightmare because there were so many fish in front of them that “foul hookers” were regular which resulted in many lost fish and resultant tangles. Dave fished maggot and pellet on peg 31 and finished with 92-08 for a clear win, whist Steve (peg 30) fished chopped worm for his 69-10 and second place.
In the final hour Paul Richardson (peg 33) found fish had moved towards him and by fishing a long pole “down the track” towards the winner, alternating corn and dead maggot on the hook, he took a fish a cast to end a creditable third placed 51-02.
Mick Lager (peg 27) and Alan Welch (peg 28) found a few fish moving in front of them in the final hour. Mick, fishing chopped worm had 5 for 18-08 and fourth place, Alan (using dead red maggot) ended with 17-15 and came fifth.
John Adamson (peg 34) caught 3 carp in the first 20 minutes on pellet before they moved off and he had no further signs in the rest of the five hours. His 14-12 secured sixth place and moved him into third place in the Championship.

The Annual Presentation will be at Brennans (Long Eaton) on Saturday 11 April when members, family and friends are welcome. Please book a place with Dave Kent at least a week in advance.
