Lincs/Notts Air Ambulance Jansen Fishery Charity Match
Charity Match 12th June
Although the fishing wasn’t at its best due to the fishery being flat-calm, the net result on the day was £455 to charity, Lincs/Notts Air Ambulance.
The match itself was fished as a mystery pairs so no one knew who their partner was until the prize giving!
Top weight on the day was Neil Fletcher with 90lb 6oz, which due to the format was only good enough for second place in the pairs as his partner John Wells only managed 15lb for a total of 105lb 6oz
First place went to Liam Cooper (69lb 6oz) and Mark Liwoshko (71lb 8oz) who totalled 140lb 14oz.
Third place went to Will Sweeney (46lb 13oz) and Reg Barras (52lb 6oz) with a total of 99lb 3oz.
You have to feel for Steve Draper who, despite weighing 82lb 11oz, didn’t figure in the frame as his partner weighed 11lb (you will remain nameless John Parker), which was only good enough for fifth.
The highlight of the day was the oldest angler on the bank, Tony Blake, trying his best to join the human plummet club!
He was fishing on his topkit when he rested it on his bait tray to feed down his right, when a carp proceeded to pull the kit towards the water.
He managed to catch hold of it but had to suffer wet legs and an arm, and a smashed MAP Carptek cupping kit for his troubles.
Thanks to the anglers for turning out, the shops and individuals who donated prizes and the people who dipped their hand in their pockets for the raffle
