I am venturing north for my annual holiday. I’m staying near Epworth, at Newlands Holiday Cottages. This complex has a small lake, so has anyone fished it & what should I expect?
I have fished lindholme, Strip & Beeches, but i’d like to try Loco & Oasis. Any advice would be welcome.
        Regards Peter

Might give you a few ideas for Oasis. Tight over on pole or method. If pleasure fishing and you have room around you, you may catch short or down the edge.

            Thanks lads,
I’d consider a day with nick speed, but i have to pay for the holiday as well so i’m afraid i’ll have to pass at the moment. I’ve got something to go on for Oasis, thanks mike, but nothing on Loco. Incidently i only pleasure fish! I’ve seen the lake but don’t know any of the pegs or baits. I was going to start on the method & feed a couple of pole lines, so any information welcome.
            Regards Peter.

As you may know Loco is a large open water, not as popular as the other higher profile lakes but that is only good news for you as it gives you more room to spread out. It has a large head of carp and bream as well as the obligatory F1’s + other species. It’s quite deep and I would recommend fishing no further out than eight mts. Use the method by all means but cast it down the side to your left and right on the three metre line rather than launching it in to space. Fish the pole straight in front and be prepared to feed quite heavily to get the attention of the better carp and bream. With regard to peg choice sit in the wind, pegs 1-11 with your back to the strip pond are usually good. Pellets meat and corn, don’t bother with maggot at this time of year.
              Hope that helps 😉
