REPORT
Long Eaton Victoria Angling Society’s 2010 Championship campaign started on Sunday on the Match Lake at Robinwood. In spite of holidays and other commitments, there was still a good turnout with several new faces.
However, it was past regulars that dominated the weights on a very hot day, with ‘big Steve’ Wilcock recording a clear win with a 50 lb 6 oz carp catch, 20 fish all taken on pellet waggler from peg 10.
On the opposite bank (peg 24) Neil Stevenson put together a carp bag of 39 lb 4 oz on pole and pellet for second place, John Adamson (peg 12) taking third place with a 12 carp catch on paste and long pole that weighed 34 lb 8 oz.
Dave Mayo’s pellet waggler catch of 5 carp from peg 18 took fourth place with 33 lb, Dave Cotterill (peg 9) in fifth with 5 carp and several ide weighing 31 lb 8 oz.
Match 3, for the H Mountney Memorial Trophy, will be at Marston’s Lake (Sinfin) on Sunday 20 June, names to Mick Lager, tel: 0115 973 4576
