        Morning all ,I am looking at visiting Makins for a quick evening session next week, this wiil be my first ever visit, I would like to have a go at some skimmers,just need an idea of which lake and peg and any tips?? maggot ,pellet etc. pole, feeder??

          hi mate makins is not realy a skimmer venue altho there are skimmers in all the lakes phase 1 pool 5 is as good as any for bream/skimmers but you will still be catching carp aswel pellet and corn work

            Agree with Gazer, not an out and out skimmer venue, I would fish lagoon or lizard lake if you want good mixed fishing.

              Cheers guys ,will have a look this week one night after work, staying in Nuneaton for work ,so not far to have a good look around. cheers jay p.

                A friend of mine fished peg 5 on lake 5 last week. Its only 30 yards from the car park. Said that he caught skimmers and proper bream to 4lb at top two plus two with pellet and paste.
                Not a few, but over 50lb, in a morning. There are a lot of bream in lake 5, but do not go too far out.
