TF_Snooty FoxI believe Andy Findlay won the open on Sunday off A15.
A20 also produced a ton as did 2 other pegs (I think). It’s either pellet feeder or method feeder all the way – not groundbait on your method but dampened 3mm’s with an 8mm banded on the hook.
Avoid the bowl (B4 to B10 ish) cos its crap.
If Woody 999 sees this he may well enlighten you some more. -

AnonymousSnooty has got it spot on with what he says about the method feeder, chuck it tight to the bank on the islands..the only other thing you will catch on is the pellet waggler but only if conditions are perfect for it but i dont think it will outscore the feeder though.

r.oyboythanks alot. why is the bowl pegs crap
-
17/09/2007 at 10:25 pm #64579
AnonymousDont know the answer to that one royboy, none of the regulars know either, its just one of those things..its only ever been good in the depth of winter, fishing the straight lead and feeding nothing, that is when a lot of fish seem to migrate there for some reason probably cos of the overall depth in this area which on average is deeper than the rest of the lake apart from pegs 21,22,and 23 which are up to 12 feet deep but these pegs seem to produce all year round.

TF_lk741didnt the record for that lake get broken from peg b10 in the bowl
-
19/09/2007 at 8:55 pm #64582
AnonymousCorrect me if i’m wrong, but i believe the current record was from A9..a very good weight did come from B10 but i believe the angler was chucking into peg 11/12 as it was one of the small wednesday opens where every angler has loads of room.

TF_kev34Are they still avin the pellet wag on lake 4??
-
20/09/2007 at 12:00 pm #64589
TF_jammy1976pellet wag not as prominate as it has been on there mate, As with most of phase 1 pellet method works chucking short of rope its what John Adamson always fishes on there. Dumping corn in on shortish pole line should now be starting to work.Let us know how you get on mate as winter league starts soon.

-
20/09/2007 at 7:15 pm #64591
Anonymousf.a.o…sjroe..its method feeder with either green swimstim micro pellets or 3mm pellets wrapped round the feeder instead of g/bait.

AnonymousKev,as snooty says, with that many of you on lake 4 a lot of you will struggle and end pegs will dominate..ideally you want no more than 15 anglers on lake 4 for it to fish ok.
hyperthetically,if you were to have only 15 of you i would peg it as follows :3,4,6,7,9,10,12,13 (thats the bank with your back to lake 2)
17,18,20,21,23,25,29 (far bank,29 is on the end of the island with your back to lake 5).
however,if you have to put more pegs in dont,i repeat dont put any in round the back of the island..26 will be ok but thats as far as you want to go.

-
24/09/2007 at 5:54 pm #64597
lemowhere did you draw woody ….where was snooty
-
24/09/2007 at 6:36 pm #64598
TF_Snooty FoxWoody – granted i was on a good peg (Thames 1), however imagine how i felt when somebody came and sat on pegs 2 and 20 – aaaaarrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhh.
Totally pi$$ed me off as they effectively formed a barrier to prevent any fish moving into the peg.
I did as best I caught an caught all 6 carp that were resident pmsl.le,mo – when woody got to the drawbag (last) there were no pegs left – I believe they put a peg in from each lake and he had to draw one of them.
-
24/09/2007 at 6:44 pm #64599
lemoi was there sun my first time there ..drawed peg 6 avon had 9 carp 1 barbel and lost 12 foul hookers come bck with just scales ……
-
24/09/2007 at 9:08 pm #64600
TF_sillybait blueSnooty, best weight on Derwent was 42lbs, not 32.
le,mo, you must have been near to me, I was peg 4 on Avon. And I caught plenty of scales too! -
25/09/2007 at 8:13 am #64601
TF_Snooty FoxSorry, it was 42 – Leesy I think.
Avon 4 ! – another flier then Mark lol
-
25/09/2007 at 6:40 pm #64602
AnonymousYeah, what snooty says is correct..i was last in the queue for the draw, when i dipped in there were no pegs left..the organiser had cocked up yet again (he did on the last match i fished there 2 weeks ago).
i was given the choice of drawing from 3 pegs, all of which were crap and all with anglers either side so no room at all, wasn’t even gonna bother and was gonna go home there and then but decided to give it a go..gave it 3 hours and fecked off home.
If the crappy organisation continues on my next match there this sunday i’m just gonna have to lose my rag and have me two penneth worth with the organiser cos it just aint cricket is it. -

01/10/2007 at 9:29 am #64610
TF_kev34Drew permanent peg 11 on lake 4 and weighed 40lb for 2nd….peg 9 won with 45lb.
Managed to have a couple on the pellet wag last hour when the sun came out but had majority of fish at 8m on corn(fed 3 tins)..
Lost 4 fish all day and the last one which i lost at the net on the pole was easy a big double…..lad next to me had one 16lb on the pellet waggler..
You where right about it being peggy as there where a couple of blanks and saturdays match with 20 anglers fished the same with 49lb winning and lots of blanks..
One thing you forgot to tell us and thats how big they got to in there lol…….
