Report:
The cold west wind and autumnal chill did not hinder sport too much and again fish were spread all around Lake Two.
Oxford angler Ian McCulloch, on form peg B17, had a slow start taking a single fish on bomb and pellet before a switch to the margins saw his day take off, and in the latter half of the match, by alternating between meat and maggots, he regularly netted good carp to end a clear winner with 132-00. (Attached photo shows Ian McCulloch with one of his carp)
On peg B11, also after a slow start, Long Eaton’s John Adamson found a few carp and bream on method feeder fished at 40m, but an excellent last two hours on pole and pellet produced 5 of his 9 carp and 6 of his 9 bream giving him a total of 91-04 for second place.
Terry Phillips on A5 took third place with 81-12 of carp on pellet and bomb, well ahead of Mick Timson (Makin’s Mafia) in fourth with his 54-04 taken on method feeder from peg A2, and fifth placed Andy Fulleylove’s 53-12 from peg A8 taken alternating method feeder and bomb and pellet.

Report:
The cool and calm start and end to the day with hot sunshine for a couple of hours in the middle did not help sport on the Thursday Nisa Open and many of the competitors struggled hard for bites.
Sean Huggins on Snake peg 8 managed to catch most of the day by switching lines and baits throughout, and by catching carp and silvers on both pellet and maggots ended a worthy winner with 68-08.
(attached photo shows Sean Huggins with the smaller fish from his winning 68-08 catch)
On the same lake on peg 12, Bob Greenbury continued his good form by taking second place with 57-10, mainly carp with a few bream, fishing pellet close to the island.
The next three weights came from Reptile, with Terry Cockburn Snr leading the way with a pellet caught 49-12 from peg 2, well ahead of Keith Hudson (peg 10) whose 35-06 was just ahead of Dave Hicken’s 34-10 from peg 7. Both used corn as the successful bait.
