TF_GALPS7Has anyone purchased or had the chance to use one of the new MAP 801 poles?
If so what is your verdict?
Cheers

TF_GALPS7Hey up mate, hope all is well.
You still getting on the bank?
How good is the M1?
The 801 feels a great pole?

TF_craigmAll fine thanks mate.
Still fishing most weekends pal, been holding my own this season π
The M1 is excellent pal, I’ve had it up against all the other top end poles and there isn’t one to match it for rigidity, balance and response in my opinion. I know there will be loads that don’t agree with me and say the Airity is better or the Trilogy – but they’re wrong. π

TF_Fred DavisI have heard that the 801 joints interchange with the browning z12 and the top of the range sensas all three poles are susposidly made on the same mandrel but to each manufacturers spec’s the browning is a higher spec than the map as it has more strengthened areas so costs more so I have beem told this by one of the browning sponserred anglers, however as I say ” susposidly ” as it was only hearsay
But makes you think!!!!!!!!!! the map is a very good price

TF_map-mikeCould not be further from the truth Fred! Do you really expect a βBrowning Sponsoredβ angler to say anything else?
Just for the record, the new MAP poles are NOT made in the same factory as Sensas, Browning, and Daiwa poles, and the TKS801 will not interchange with Z12 as we actually own our mandrels.

TF_GALPS7Just had the 801 up against an Airity ( which i have just sold ).
The 801 IMO is stiffer and more responsive than the Airity, as i say IMO.
Never felt a pole like it for the money. -

TF_paulDhavent seen the MAP poles yet but from the ads it looks like theyve just ripped off what browning have done with the Z12 :eek
I was going to change my Z9 for a Z12 in the spring but the browning rep had the new Z8 in the shop last week. Is exactly the same as the 12 with all the same good bits and extras but the but sections are normal size so will fit in my car easier. Is also only 1700 quid with loads of spares. It felt stiffer and lighter than my 9 – but the old girl has had a bit of stick over the last 3 years and has a repiared 8th (trod on π‘ ) Might wait to the Big 1 show and see them all together.

TF_Fred Davishopefully see you there paul as I also want to look at the z8 and compare it to the z12 to see the difference the fact that it has normal butt sections could make it a winner

TF_scottypi’ve had a waggle with the 801 with an elasticated 801 power kit in at the tackle shop and its a fantastic pole – i;ve currently got the 825 and it is better than that.
the finish is superb, its stiffer than anything else ive held and the match/power kits are very light, and keep there stiffness under load.
My mate was in the position to purchase and has done, leaving M1 now redundant and its just not as good.
Seriously brilliant piece of kit -
