TF_fadd1stNot hearing much on these expensive angler catchers..
Has anyone had ‘any’ success with them? -
10/05/2010 at 6:56 pm #104416
TF_JohnHUsed it last week on the Glebe, WCA,s auction prise of a day out with D Cox.
Hard to draw firm conclusions based on one session but I would not dismiss it on cost grounds. Its only about the price of 2 pints of caster. I had 20 odd big skimmers and some carp on it on a cold windy day when a swim stim feeder approach was very slow.
Will the fish hang themselves on it….. well no not really but try it for yourself and you maybe surprised. -

TF_teabagThe best baits are always kept quiet – ar’nt they???? lol
People may not be shouting about it, but it’s certainly selling fast enough ????

TF_JohnHTea bag is correct, if someone is bagging up on it and winning loads he is going to keep mum. Try it for yourself and draw your own conclusions. Or alternatively ignore it if you wish.
It just amazes me, when lots have £2000 poles and £1000 seat boxes but can turn their noses up at a few quid for bait. -

TF_andy cranes mateParticipantIf you hype anything people get cynical. Good products sell themselves.

Hi Jon, There are two tackle shops near me that sell it, Castaways in Lincoln and the Tackle Box in Newark, if it’s not too far for you to travel give them a whirl.

TF_Leaky Lloydi was told there was a field test done at the glebe,,, every other angler was given marukyu baits!
guess what happened????
yep,, every angler using marukyu was beaten by anglers not using it!!!!!
supposedly tried to keep it qiet!
no names mentioned,,but that came from the top!~shhalso on the sunday open match at aston park in sheffield 1st, 2nd and 3rd came from the same section with weights of 52lb, 46-15 and 46-13
the other angler in the 4 peg section weighed in 18lb ,, guess what he used??????
how did you guess?~sick ~sickbut fair play at least marukyu won him his section,,even if he did finish dead last in it!
well done super bait~clap ~clap ~clap -

TF_fadd1stJohnh. I would not have commented without trying it!
Every time I have used it I have been beaten by lesser anglers(they would not disagree) by considerable margins and they were only on average pegs.

TF_CutnutMaybe some fishee no likee sushi~think ~clap
I have yet to try some and will not dismiss it, however, I do think that on some waters at the moment you are either on fish or you are not. Most waters are yet to get to a consistent temperature where fish become willing to spread out and feed regardless of the time of day or bait dangled in front of them.
No doubt good anglers will still be good anglers regardless what they bait up with and those that think they are good will still be legends in their own minds.
There could be host of reasons why some have yet to have any remarkable results on the stuff…using too much or too little or using the wrong version for the conditions, feeding too often or not enough, not off bottom when the fish are in mid water..who knows?

TF_joffmiester~clap ~clap good point carpnut
when trev tomlin introduced SENSAS to the uk market the whole team was given loads of the stuff we also fished it like the french and balled it in we had the french team come over and show us what they do and it worked brilliantly but as time has pasted and more anglers fished it the right way the effects changed our rivers have gone clearer you were always one step a head because anglers picked up sensas G/B but didn’t use it right but that introduction to the product put SENSAS where it is to day -

TF_joffmiestersorry having trouble with the site being very slow and not excepting posts
anyway this new bait has come to the UK probably at the worest time ever as its looks a quality product BUT very expensive are anglers using it right would a angler pick up a £7.99 bag or two and put the lot in ~naughty i don’t think so like carpnut said good anglers will always do well whatever the bait conditions will always take a massive part in your days fishing
I’ve seen the match fishing feature on the bait and the first thing i thought is roy planning to put 200 pegs around glebe one ~think ~think because thats the sort of conditions you’l need for this product to have the same affect
no way am i knocking the product but i think not enough has been done with the product yet
floats catch anglers and so do GROUNDBAITS,PASTES AND PELLETS if they are not used right -
11/05/2010 at 8:42 am #104478
TF_JohnHI dont know about the South but its still freezing up here, about 5 degrees yesterday. Guys at work this morning are telling me at 5.00am they were scraping ice off their cars. Hardly the conditions for any fish to jump on G/B. Meat corn maggot and caster still rule not pellets just yet. Lets wait and see what happens when (if) things warm up a bit.

TF_joffmiesterjohn its a massive undertaking bring a new product like this to the UK but from what i’ve seen the packaging is good the prices are from about £3.99 to £7.99 and the product range is massive but there is a recession and i still think we have not seen the worest of it yet
there was a match won on the bait last week this week everyone said he didn’t use it you then fined out his sponsored by them
everyone is trying to run before they can walk thats the publicity the product doesn’t want -

TF_RossnLeaky Lloyd,
Perhaps you’d like to pm me the name of the “Top” angler that told you this because all of the anglers must have broken in to the property to fish this secret match…

TF_AnthonywatersParticipantI believe there will be baits out there that potentially will be alot more effective than others somebody needs to source the info of what flavouring they use in catmeats and apply them to pellets they would be leathal.

AnonymousBeen reading this and other threads on several different forums about this range of baits. A few things seem to be standing out so fare. Bream seem to like it and have been reported a being caught regularly! The other thing i keep reading is that testers are using baits like corn casters and meat with these new products. From what i can work out. This is a comprehensive range of ground bait, paste and pellets. So, why are anglers not mixing and matching ground bait with paste and pellets that complement each other? No need for other baits to find out if these baits are as good as has been suggested by a few. There is no point in feeding a ground bait or pellets if you going to put corn or meat on the hook. The fish might love your feed but reject your hook bait because its very different to what they want to eat. Try using pellets with pellets. Ground bait to mix and match with the correct pellets or paste. Grind down or soak some feed pellets to make your paste from and only feed the same feed pellets that your paste is made from. Thats what we normally do with most types of bait like pellets, ground bait and paste! Its only as the testing goes on. That anglers will find different types of baits that complement like meat and hemp or worms and casters! The test of these new baits will only be subjective if you only use these new baits and by correctly mixing and matching one product with the other or with only one type of bait at a time!

TF_poleanglerTrueBlue,
Thats the most logical answer i have seen posted about these baits yet. Seen a few replies where people say they were getting indications but no fish, maybe its a case of people using what they know and not trying something a little different that make a big difference. Roy reckons the Nori pellets are good so may be they should be given a try or maybe meat coated in one of the groundbaits.
Still early days yet plenty of time for them to take off.
