match top kits number 1 with or with out !

Just out of interest who uses there match kit with the number one removed,+ is there such a thing on the market as a wide bore number reason I ask is looking to use some of my match kits with double no 5 .

Depends on what pole as daiwa do big bore kits or you can purchase a big bore number one that’s fits on the match number 3 section, the big bore kit is effectively a number one and two section in a one piece carbon section with a wider bore, the advantage of this is you can use it at the same length as match kits with a cut down number one (as used on canals) or the same length as a dedicated power two piece kit, the advantage with the big bore kit over a power top two is that either of the sections on the BBK can be bought separately where as the power kit is bought as a kit only.

If you only ever fish for silvers with light gear and no carp I would cut down the no1 section.

As this is not the case for 99% of people I would remove the section all together
