i am thinking of buying a new pole and i was wondering if you guys out there could give me your thoughts on wether to get the sensas 774 or the new maver signature 600 or 800,i have tried both and really can`t make my mind up any advice would be grateful.

I’ve tried the 800 and was very impressed, I own an elite 88 and it’s on a par with stiffness and weight, but feels much stronger, a lot cheaper too! And i think i’ll be buying one! As for the sensas I haven’t picked one up so can’t comment. But from experience the after sales at maver is very good, up there with the best. Hope this helps.

I’m now on my third Sensas pole, own a 774 and just taken delivery of an 874 and to be honest I wouldn’t buy anything other than Sensas as its a brand I have total confidence in. The 774 was first released in 2008 and it’s still available in their catalogue and you can still get parts, all the top kits are generic too. You get a total of 11 kits with both the above poles and a Joker card so if you break a section for whatever reason they will replace it FOC in the first 12 months. I ordered a spare section for one of my previous Sensas poles on a Monday at 12 and it was waiting in the shop for me the following morning at 10AM which is excellent service in anyone’s book.

I’ve also owned Maver however you will find whatever model you buy it will be obsolete within 12 months, I had a number 6 section explode without warning which whilst replaced under the guarantee I had to argue to get replaced – when the replacement arrived it was a totally different colour and as the sections aren’t specifically marked there was no way of telling if it was the correct section [a pole which set me back £2600 and sold after 14 months for £700 just to get rid of the thing]

Another vote here for the Sensas 774.Would definitely get another if this one ever wears out.Reasonable price for spares and good after-sales.Haven’t had a Maver for years though.

Used my new 874 last weekend for the first time, the most noticable difference between that and my 774 was the new finish, really easy to ship even in the damp weather. I’ve had a 774 for coming up to 3 years and its still like new with very little signs of wear one the joints.

When you consider that the most used brand of poles in the World Championships is Sensas it tells you something about their products and how they are viewed by the elite anglers across Europe.

Yes just about to get a 874 after years of my 774 all the breakages i’ve acurd have been MY fault being a heavy handed than most .never a problem in getting spares and at a reasonable price
plus a new middle of the range 3 series coming out soon

If you need spares for a 7 series, Browning xitan bits fit perfectly. I went from a 774 to a Z9 and discovered that the Sensas topkits and sections from 4 to 8th fitted the Browning and were even the same length, so I kept some Sensas bits as spares. The 4, 5 and 6 also fit the Z12 I’ve got now.
Since then my mate has used the £50 Browning 4th power sections and kits on his 774. He say theyre stronger. He also uses a Z7 5th as it was cheaper and he can’t tell the difference when its in the pole, they even weigh the same.

I loved my 774 but its a bit of a pensioner now

sensas all the way for me had the 654 744 and now the 844 total confidence cant fault them in any way
