I bought Maver super soft micro shot to use on my pole rigs.
I first purchased size 8 to try on some stick float rigs and found it to be very good.
I then bought size 8,9,10,11,13 to use on pole rigs.
The 8 and 9 are black and shiny in appearance and slide nicely on the line.
The 10 and 11 are grey in color and dusty and no matter how carefully I place them on the line they break the line when I try moving them.
Has anyone else had the same problem or did I get a bad batch?
I was using 0.12 and 0.14 rig line.

Crowquill, Maver use ZLT shot but two different types, one in a green tub and the other in a red tub with one being a budget price shot and the other one a top quality shot but unfortunately I can’t remember which is which !

I bought it because I was told it was ZLT.
Both the good and bad shot were in red tubs.

I’d drop a line to Maver customer services then as I was told what I posted above and that, it would seem, wasn’t true then unless of course the premium stuff is in the green tubs ? I’ll try and find out for you.

Thanks Steve looks like I was just unlucky and got a bad or incorrectly packaged batch. They are in the dustbin now.
Number 10’s on the left and 8’s on the right.

I have resized the picture twice to try show the number 8’s to the right.

Spoke to someone at Maver who confirmed the red tubs are the ZLT stuff but they do get occasional quality control issues depending on the amount of other metals going into the shot but this shouldn’t have affected you as 8’s & 10’s should be lead whereas the larger sizes have to be non-lead – all that means is I’m even more confused now !
Only thing I can suggest is that when you find a good batch buy several tubs and stock up !

                      Thanks again Steve,
I will stock up when I find a good supply.

The Garbolino shot is also ZLT apparently so might be worth a gander at that as well !
