It’s fishing well in areas, hard in others. Depends which lake you’re on, the larger lake (Lambsdowne) is good in areas for silvers at the moment, and there’s been decent weights of carp from certain pegs, however it’s still in winter mode and therefore very patchy.

The smaller lake at the back (Warren) is fishing well, with weights of 60lb of silvers (skimmers) and some decents weights of carp being caught. There was a 130lb of carp recently from peg 34. 70lb of carp won the open two weeks ago on the lead/bag.

I was on Lambsdowne peg 12 last weekend, and struggled for 6lb which was mid-way in section. 94lb won the section and match from end peg 4, which was all carp caught on the pole down the margin. Steve Ringer had 5 carp for 40lb on the bag from peg 5, and Simon Fry had 50lb-odd from the other end of the section on peg 21ish, however the anglers inbetween really struggled, with most weighing below 12lb. Phil Ringer won the far bank with 3 carp for 25lb.

Hope this is of some help.

Also; if I was you and wanted to fish the method / lead / bag, I’d site on pegs 21-23 on Lambsdowne, or possibly the lower numbers (3-5) and make sure you have a bit of space (shouldn’t be many pleasure / carpers there anyway).

Best advice would be to phone the fishery, however the above should give you an idea on its recent form.

Only fished it once but it was in late July in a club match similar in size to yours. So, this might help. After our draw we all spoke to the fishery owner who was selling pellets. He gave a full run down on the best methods, baits and form for each peg. Mainly, the method, bomb and pellet or pellet waggler plus down the bank on a few pegs. On the day. I won my section with 20 carp for 90lb and 5th in the match from what was suggested was a bad peg. I caught everything on bomb and pellet as suggested by the fishery owner. Others who followed the info from the fishery owner caught well by doing what was being suggested for there pegs. Those that struggled ignored their advice and did there own thing. The fishery owner could not have been more helpful and knew his stuff on how the lake was fishing and the best ways to attack each peg. So, i would definately suggest you ask the fishery owner for some advice once you know which peg you have drawn. 130lb won our match with 3 other ton plus weights. First time any of us had fished this venue. So, a very good result for this type of club match.

One other piece of advice. Hang on to your rod and dont let go even if its to only fire some bait in with a catty. I ended up sitting on the butt of my rod after almost losing my rod twice. Would have defo lost my rod f i had continued to just leave it on the side of my box and a rod rest. Others had the same issue! The bites where the most agressive bites i have ever had on any venue that i,ve come across and i,ve fished quite a few. The carp fight like hell for their average size and i never hooked anything over 6lb. Plenty of carp caught by other anglers over 10lb with one fish landed at 24lb and another of 17lb.

Beautiful venue. Wish it was closer to home. Its that good.

                Hope that helps.

depending on which lake you are on in july will determine how you fish it.pegs 4-25 on the big lake(lambsdown) will be method, with pellet wag and st/lead all catching fish, the flyers will be 18-21 where you would expect to catch on the wag and st/lead,although 8-15 can be really good with some big fish caught on the wag.the pump bank(30-40) pegs will be method and st/lead.far side 41-52 method/lead/and paste on the pole.if you get them on the pole on these pegs they are generally big fish, not many under double figures.
warren pool will be method and pole,as the biggest pellet you can feed on there is 4mm.paste fish on here are very big(up to 20lb)so dont go under gunned, you will see the swirls or vortexes when they are down the edge.
                    hope this helps you
